Anyone got any ideas on this event?
 
Here's what i got so far. You cheer on the Tree NOT the Moogle. Once it makes it to it's despawn point talk to the Xmas Npc around there and you should get a Kiddie Present. After that i have no clue.
 
You give the present to a child within that zone, I beleive. I did one in Sandy. Then you got the optional warp from that NPC to either of the other 2 cities. I think it's only 1 present per day. Give a present to a kid in every city. That's my guess.
 
I gave a present to a child before the tree went down and the "Santa" NPC popped. However, I can't remember from whom I picked it up.

I did see a regional merchant wearing a Dream Hat... was that just a glitch? Extra holiday cheer maybe?
 
The odd regional merchant is wearing a hat. I saw one in Sandy. I think it's just for extra cheer!
 
I think that has to do with that False smilebringer. Not sure.

Could someone please make a list of the fake Smilebringers? Area, Pos, Name.

You have to be wearing the NQ hat to trade presents to the kids?
 
Yes, you do. It seems you only get a item from finding the fake but i've only been asked to find the fake once so i'm not sure how to get it again. I've done the damn present thing like 9 times now(3 times in each city) and nothing.

I got a Dream Coffer so i'm kinda happy.
 
Where's the hippy present-giver in South Sandy?

Nevermind, there aint one is there. One present per day, globally? Did you just run around the same city Myrrh or did you bounce around all 3?

There isn't one in South,(So North sandy, bastok Markets, and Wind Woods) they only spawn once you cheer the tree on enough to make it to where ever and he despawns into shinny and a Npc wearing Xmas shit spawns. Talk to him, get a present, find any kid, touch him, go back, and still working on it from there. So far it seems after you back you might get a teleport to another town or the find the fake quest.

I think the fake Smilebringer though is random, so you have to look around for it.
 
So I warped to sandy, runnin around here. We 'killed' the tree and the npc spawned, but he won't give me another present (got one in bastok today already) so I presume one per day is global.

First time I talked to the npc he gave me the quest to find the fake moogle kid whateverthehell. In this case it was a dude in a Dream Hat that wasn't a child, he's a regular vendor in Sandy.

Anyways after identifying the fake moogle, I go back to the full Dream npc and he gave me a Dream Platter (furnishing, stg:2).

So I presume we just repeat this once per day. No clue if you have to collect furnishings from each city or what yet.
 
Just did it again, it was a different NPC this time and I got fireworks instead of a furnishing. F_ck this place, I'm goin back to bastok.
 
Here is what you do, You Wait for the tree to spawn, /cheer it till it depspawns, talk to the NPC the "Santa" one
and he tells you to go find a "False Smilebringer".

It will be another NPC with a hat, Changes everyday i think, not to sure, after your done talking to the NPC ( one with the hat) go back to the "Santa" one, and he will give you a prize.

So it looks like the first time you do the "find the fake" quest, you are rewarded with the furnishing from that city. Just warped to Bastok, found the fake, got the Dream Coffer. Omw to Windy now.

Yup, that really somes it up, Be sure to wear the Dream Hat to get the Dream robe, And you start getting the Robe, fireworks etc, after you get all the furnishings
 
I dunno about it, Only +1 part i got was the robe. Ima keep trying for it tomorrow.
 
Yea, you get dream platter from finding fake SB in Sandy, dream coffer from Bastok and a dream stocking from Windy, can also get the robe and robe+1 if you do the treant/fake Smilebringer thing enough I read as well.

As for the hat+1, if its similiar to previous years, buy 1 of the Christmas trees from the Moogles selling fireworks/dream hat, put it in Mog House layout, wait til JP midnight next day and talk to your Moogle, he should find a special present item under the tree and gives it to you.
Exit Mog House and use it, it'll be a firework, and after the animation is done check inventory and should have Dream hat+1.
 
Schwing! So a high level of joy and child molestation is pointless other than free warps to other homelands?
 
Pretty much, I just traded a few presents to the kiddies to be able to port to the other 2 cities to go harass their Trees.
