Event thread.

Well, I just got through doing all of the event (unless theres something else, not involving the Treant). Basically, to get the robe, you need to have brought a decent amount of Joy to Vana'diel, and do one of the runs a 2nd time, in any of the cities (you don't have to do all the cities 1st...just go and do 1 city twice, but make sure you've given enough Joy through presents and fireworks).

For the +1 robe, you have to do a 2nd city twice (again, do not need all 3 cities done 1st), and...you'll either get the +1 robe, or fireworks. Make sure you have room though, I got screwed out of my 1st HQ robe the 1st time, because of my inventory being full. Also, the +1 robe "Enhances the effect of Selbina Milk", so it should be great for low level jobs.

As far as I can tell, theres nothing special for doing all the cities twice, so I wouldn't bother wasting your time doing it, until somebody shows proof saying otherwise.
 
Yeah I did not have all 3 Dream ___ furniture items when I got my Dream Robe +1. First I did Bastok and got the coffer and nq robe and left after I got fireworks. Next, Windy and I got the stocking and Dream Robe +1 and again left when I got fireworks . Went to Sandy and got the Platter and then just fireworks. Was wondering about the Dream Hat +1 since I couldn't seem to get one, so thanks for the info, Quina. I'll have to try that and see what happens.

This'll be long, but maybe it'll help you out:

As far as I can tell, the only thing giving the presents to the kids in town does for you I believe is build enough joy so you can teleport from nation to nation. If you haven't built enough joy, you can't teleport that way, but I don't think it has anything at all to do with the event items whatsoever. You can only get one present from the NPC to give to a kid per Vana'diel day.

The treant thing you can do over and over without a wait though. What I did was wait by the quest starting NPC, because the NPC will disappear (along with the nation's main tree decorations) when the treant pops. The treant always pops in the same place (from what I could tell, about every 10-15 mins or so). You can /follow the treant and you want to /cheer it on over and over again until it despawns. Once it does, talk to the NPC again who'll say something about a fake smilebringer they want you to find. You run around and find the NPC in that area of town who is wearing a Dream Hat. The NPC is sometimes the same NPC a couple times in a row, but from what I can tell, it's random. Talk to the imposter and then go back and talk to the quest starter, and that's when you'll be given your item.
 
Zyndara and Tiael are spot on. Thats exactly what I did last night and got Robe, Robe+1, Stocking, Plater, Coffer, and some random fireworks. It ended up getting late, so I didn't have time to get the Hat+1, but I'll get that tomorrow.

Oh and thanks for the help ingame last night Tiael... I least I think that was you...lol. Names are hard to remember. :biggrin:
 
Confirmed: Dream Hat +1 is obtained from putting a Tree in your Mog House, and waiting til after JP midnight. I got a cake from the Dream Platter, also...but none of the other items, so I really don't know what/if they give anything.
 
I heard someone talking about dream hose, anyone know how to get those yet? =/
(or maybe I got mixed up with dream stocking...which is a furniture?)
 
Bitch won't give me my hat+1. /angry

I've had a Bastokan tree in as a regular furnishing for a bunch of months now, so I'm guessing that held it up for some reason. She found a log in my dream platter but no thing under my trees (I bought a San d'Orian tree just to be safe, and put them both in layout last night).

Or would maintenance today have reset that?

im from bastok but I found a roasted turky under the platter. I belive it the one you put in first
 
I think I placed my Dream Coffer first, but I also got something from the platter only. I'm guessing that's the only one that the moogle will find items in.
 
GOD DAMNIT! She ain't finding the thing under the tree at all, but she's now found two Rolle of buche au chocolat in the same god damn platter!

To Obtain the Dream Hat +1, put any of the City trees (bought from the Dream Hat vendor) in your Mog House and wait a Real Life night. You also will need maximum Holiday Children fame (your smilebringer will tell you "The children love you, Even i think your Great!"). When you talk to your Moogle at 00:00 PST (NOT 24 hours) your Moogle will give you a "special present". Go outside your Mog House and use the present from your inventory and you will get the Dream Hat +1 in your inventory.

I got a Candy Ring from my Dream Coffer. Only had that and a windurst tree in my MH at the time.
 
fun lil tidbit, if you're wearing the +1 dream hat and +1 robe, and you call your npc, they too will be wearing festive articles of red and white. :biggrin:

Yeah, this was discovered last year. You can do it with NQ, or any combination of NQ/HQ too. It only works with the Signal Pearl though. Tactics Pearl just puts them in their normal attire.
