Last night for Holloween my ex and i went to a camp site and made a bon fire and drank and what not. We decided to tell Ghost stories and i recalled something strange that i seen before, and i wondered why i never asked anyone here if they seen this. So.

It was me and 3 of my buddies chilling at the home of my best friend. We were gathered in a circle just blowing smoke and making jokes. An ordinary summer evening. We were in a basement where my friend slept.

All of a sudden from between the furnace and under the stairs a ball of light shot out and stoped along the path of where we walk, then it took off into the laundry room and it was gone. I and one other of my friends witnessed this as the other 2 had their backs turned from the view.

-It "DID NOT" passing along the wall like a beam of light.

-It hovered and seemed to have more speed and control than a fish in water.

-It was appearant for 1 and a half seconds. It took off when me and the other who seen it inhaled air in awe. It did not vanish before our eyes, it stoped and took off the moment it noticed it was seen. ( Not sure why it took off, it seemed like we startled it)

-It was the size of a Basket ball. It was bright white and did not hurt or blind the eyes to look at it.
(A lightbulb would be blinding as first glance. This mysterous energy was easy on the eyes, but very solid in appearance and non transparrent)

I watched a program on TV once that was talking about what they addressed as orbs, which is very simular to what i seen. If you ask me, i'd tell you that those things are real.

i saw Dukes of Hazzard...still can't figure that one out.

I believe what you saw was this:

Its a very rare sight. You should consider yourself lucky :p My father's grandmother died because of one of those. Basically, if you're in an enclosed area (she was the coal basement), they will charge towards anything that can lead electiricty. She got her heel knocked off, and died because of infections and whatnot.

Sometimes they can be formed around small metalic objects, and become rather dangerous, as they can charge through windows and almost make them explode from the force... or that's what I read about them when I had it as a science project.

You can actually recreate this by using a simple microwave. There's several ways of doing it, but I won't tell you how, as I don't want to be responsible for ruining your microwaves <.<;

Edit: what they talk about on TV shows talking about ghosts, is really not the same thing xD

He's right.

I read somthing about it, it's called some kind of fire or somthing more commonly.

Looks like a ball, develops in places like that or on high places such as an grounding tower, looks like blue fire in a ball, sorta.

Deadly, indeed. I've never heard of a personal account, but there's quite a few more than a handful of deaths from them.

They're more common during thunder storms, especially during something called "pearl thunder" (don't know the exact translation of the word...). They're not all that uncommon if you have a coal basement during thunder storms (but not to say common, as it very rarely happens still).

What the talk about on the TV when they talk about ghosts, is a phenomenon known as Will o' the wisp, aka. Ignis Fatuus (ironically translated roughly in to Fool's Fire)

Mhm. Your microwave gets fried. lol

But as previously stated by Uzor, they can become very dangerous. If they last for an extended amount of time (which is still several seconds), the ball of lightning gains energy, and supposedly causes a reaction with the valence electrons of the atoms in the surrounding air, and can create a mini-arc of lightning to the closest object that has a high conductivity of electricity, like metal.

Our science teacher talked to us about this for a short bit, and has a counter-hypothesis, but yea. Pretty much, when the electrons from lightning become excited, they shoot off into random directions I guess, and somehow get caught in the attraction of other atoms in the air or other aeriel elements. When the build up of electrons is so great, they begin to bounce up and down the energy levels because they were shot off with such high energy from the lightning, and become visible, hence the lightning ball. It also causes electrical properties to become present apparently, and take on very similar roles that lightning arcs take up.

Ultimately, it's a disturbance of the molecules in the air, and could explain a little more about the charges of protons, shielding energy levels, and electrons.

Of course, everything I just said could be complete crap, and my teachers' knowledge of this could be outdated by newer studies. I do know, however, that it has to do with quantam theory and the electro-magnetic spectrum of light.

Good stuff Uzor.

Sorry to hear about you're great Grandmother, but damn, i feel lucky all of a sudden. That ball of light was only 12 feet away from me.

I don't remember if it happened during a ligtning storm. But i do know it happened in the summer, and ofcoarse that is a time we do get thunder storms.

This might explain a story a childhood friend told me. How his sister was sitting on the ledge of their cross basement, and she turned white in fear. The explination is she seen what appeared to be a glowing triangle flying towards her then it vanished.

Wow so rarely seen, i feel special ^^

I saw one of those once, scared the crap out of me. I just barely managed to snap a picture before it vanished....

This happened to my family once. We were all sitting in the living room and we had this blueish mist come in from the window travel along the ceiling and hit our t.v. and burnt it out.

Apparently its not as rare as scientists say it is. Its probably because most people don't realize what they have seen and thus keep quiet about it to not be taken as wierdos :p

lol This could be true, but...

Apaprently, "orbs", as they are called in the 'paranormal' world is a phenomena that somehow doesn't comply with the natural laws of science. They are different from "lightning balls" because supposedly, they give off low frequencies of EMP, or electro-magnetic pulse, which is different than a lightning arc.

Well i did more research about this Ball lightning (fun)

This guy is harnessing free floating ball lightning and figured out ways to manipulate it into becoming Plasma. The guy even talks about robotic arms to handle the energy like he's Dr. Octavous. We're talking Free energy machine. As explained in this video (23 minutes, 47 seconds into the video) He claims How he can feed the machine 100 kilowatts And it will then prouduce 1,000 ( 1 Megawatt ). After this occurs he then speaks about conversion, meaning the generator will charge itself so it can continue to prouduce more energy.

*Dr. Kiril Chukanov, who has been working proprietarily on his quantum free energy technology in Canada, showed up at the ExtraOrdinary Technology conference in Salt Lake City July 30, 2006. He said he has four prototypes built now, with strong interest being shown in continued funding.*

Free energy will prouduce cleaner air, and think of how much money we would save personally and worldwide (Millions and multi trillions into infinity)

I'm a Duracell man, But if Energizer invests in this and becomes commercial with this technology, then they can really say how they keep going and going, and they would own our souls !

this is pretty damn cool... i wonder how far along he is in perfecting this now..
