I know there are a few metal fans on these boards and I thought I'd share this with you all.

Nevermore and Evergrey did a one off at jaxx last night (sans In Flames, god bless), played a full 75 minute set each. It was a hell of a show :D

A few pics of Evergrey

So glad the new Evergrey isn't like the last one... As for Nevermore... I don't think any other band in the history of man has done so much tagging along XD They are constantly touring it seems.

I like all of Evergrey's releases, but the new one is both different and fucking awesome, I'm very happy with it.

As for Nevermore, one could debate all day as to who tags along with who lol XD

Don't get me wrong, I liked the Inner Circle album but it was a little to religious and soft for me to give it 100% thumbs up. As for Nevermore I'm a fan of their old stuff but their new stuff, past two albums, are mehhhhhhhh... I've seen them open for soooooo many bands.

Inner Circle was hella anti-catholicism O.o But I feel ya

My fav Nevermore albums are of course DNB and DHIADW, everything else I love but not as much. Loomis is a truly unique player though, there's a lot to be learned stylistically from his playing.

Sucks that they have to open so much though, they're fucking great live.

whaaaaaaaat? I didn't get that vibe at all off it! How do you figure?

Tom said so >_< It had a lot to do with him finding "God" at the birth of his child. It is a concept album on that concept =/

You can give a band a thousand genres and all would fit in.
Call a band Speed Metal and they make a ballad.
IMO let's just stick with Metal for now.

I think i've only heard one song with Nevermore "Final Product" for those who care and I think it's a really really good so I might look them up sometime.
I've listened to some Evergrey in my days even saw them live sometime and yes they are good but there is just something in there which doesn't seem right. I can't say if it's the lyrics or the singer but it's one of them. I admit it was a long time since I listened to them though so they could've changed.

In Flames, oh yeah. I've listened to those alright, as a true citizen of Gothenburg you have to know about the Gothenburg Sound and Scandinavian Metal such as Dimmu Borgir and Tiamat *drool* Singer of Tiamat work at my local music store and Mikkey Dee (drummer in Motörhead) lives just a block away, I've spoken to him a couple of times.

I don't know how many times i've seen In Flames live, I think it's the band i've seen most time except for Motörhead which I go see with my brother every year.

For those not yet introduced to the glory of Dimmu Borgir might want to check out this video, (Warning: Slight nudity and some content which some viewers may find offending and yes I learned to type like this from watching Jackass) I say this because I saw the cencored version once and realized how much bs people actually remove.

You know, I'm pretty sure you're wrong about this - have a link to the interview?

No, met him at Prog Power with the Inside Out guys my distro buys from. However, go back and really listen to the album, it's very obvious if you think in the mentality that it is about christianity and belief in God.

Reason I ask is he told me it was about the evils of organized religion, and being pulled in and devoting your life to it as it becomes evil - as well as child abuse in regards to religious figures. I can see some good things being gleaned about having faith, but this isn't a pro anything album to my understanding.

I just can't see anything negative religion in the entire album... Maybe I'm missing something? It's hard to swallow that such a good guy would bold face lie to one of us or to good a musician to not understand his own writings =/
