I had forgotten about this guy until the Beng post came up.

Does anyone know a Taru named Jajaj?

I apologize if anyone here is friends with him, but I will never party with this goon ever again.

He's bringing Ranger up through the mid 50's currently and was in my party last week in Teriggan.

We met up in Jeuno and I noticed he was wearing a Brigandine body piece. I politely sent him a /tell asking if I could scope his gear, he said ok.

I can't remember a couple pieces, but this is what memory serves:

War Bow +1 with Scorps (not something I will fault a Ranger for at this level really)
Archer's Knive x2
Brigandine +1 body (+1 ok, not sure why, but ok)
Carapace Ring (NQ)
Second ring was something useless. Can't recall what, but it was nothing I would be caught dead in.
Drone Earring (I think 2, not sure)
I think hands and feet were both Noct, but NQ versions.
Feet might have been RSE, can't recall.

So I'm thinking, eh, ok, whatever.. gimpy, but we'll see how this goes.

Skill chain is setup as Raging Fists -> Slug Shot -> Sidewinder.

First battle, we all call out our TP, Monk goes, I go, Jajaj seems to be off in the nether somewhere.

Ok, he didn't see the calls I figure, whatever.

Next battle, Jajaj kicks off a Sidewinder seemingly at random. And it misses. Eh, I miss them too on occasion, but at this point I'm already shaking my head at his gear for the miss.

No one really says anything about it, so myself and the Monk continue doing our thing, and Jajaj seems to just fire off Sidewinders at complete randomness, connecting on maybe half a dozen throughout the entire party session. I'm talking a 10-15% hit ratio here.

During a spat of downtime, the WHM queries how much we (the 2 rangers) have spent on our jobs so far. I think for a moment and come up with "well, easily over a million on gear so far, no idea how much including ammo"

Jajaj's response was "200k."

I'm rather shocked by this. No, I think dumbfounded is a more appropriate description. Followed by quite a bit of anger. I make an offhanded comment of "wow, that's insane, how did you manage that?" all the while fully well knowing how he did this based on the gear he was wearing. He mumbles something about "I do woodworking"

Me and the Monk exchange a few tells regarding this. A few minutes go buy and he says "lol 2 stacks of arrows gone already." I open up my inv and see that I've gone through over 3 stacks of bullets. Anyone who doesn't know the significance of this, gun's are remarkably slower than bows in terms of delay. Same for bullets over arrows. This guy should have gone through 4-5 stacks of arrows *easily* by this point.

The party continues to limp on due to this guy who can't hit the broad side of a barn and suddenly I see "Jajaj uses Gust Slash" in the chat log. "?" pops up in party chat from just about everyone after this battle and his response is "I don't have a skillchain."

I say "Well, you do, but why should that matter any way? You should be using ranged weaponskills."

His response: "It doesn't matter, I can do whatever weaponskill I want if I'm not in the skillchain."

The party broke soon after this as the whm had to go to dinner.

I told a few of my friends about this guy afterwards and, the ones that know him respond with "OMFG I KNOW THAT GUY, WORST WHM EVER!!!!!!!!!" I guess he's a level 70 whm somehow. If he plays his WHM like he plays RNG, I weep for everyone who has ever died because of his ineptitude.

Sorry, this was rather long winded, but I realized I've had this bottled up for just about a week now.

So I hope at least someone will recall this if you happen to be putting together a party and see him LFG. I know I will be dropping any party I get invited to that has him in it.

Wow, I actually PTed with him before.
I do not recall when or where or what job he was, but there was something significant about him... I dont remember if it was good or bad, but I have a feeling it was bad. I cannot recall but something makes him stick out in my mind.

hey i was in this party as well with my rdm,
and the response he did after gust slash was
"i am skilluping my daggers"
like doing a dagger weapon skill will get you more than possibly one skillup every 3 minutes.
we asked him not to skillup in the pt and he said something irrelevant and we all went on with our business until the tank left,
thats another story for another time,
im too old for this shit.
 
I've PTed with his WHM before, our Ninja died.....do you have any idea how freakin easy it is to WHM with a Ninja? O.O

Sometime's it's not the whm's fault. If the whm gets some kind of status effect that prevents them from curing, or the nin gets one-shotted while shadows are down. Still, he might suck on whm, and what he did on rng was horrible.

haha i have a bad track record with ninjas. Mainly because its the easiet tank to whm, mostly cause ill slack off after tank has gone 20min without getting hit so i start to mess around a bit then bam all goes to hell, atleast with a pld im curing alot so im more focused. Btw Jajaj is my best friend hes a cool guy, super nice and friendly

My best friend and brother both play, they aren't the best, but they coul dbe a lot better. My brother, a WAR, hardly ever uses Provoke. >.< My bet friend REFUSED to use it because he said it makes the mob hit harder. double --

Reeeeally off topic here, but as far as I know this SC doesn't work. Raging Fists > Slug Shot puts the current SC in the Detonation box, and doing Sidewinder after that won't do anything aside from mess up any possible MBs. I really doubt this is why Jajaj didn't SC with you, but I just want to point it out.

(A better SC would have been to put Jajaj at the start, with Sidewinder > Raging Fists > Slug Shot, as that gives Impaction then Detonation - maybe that's what your SC was?)

Anyway, back on topic...

Actually, I don't think I have anything to really add... I've never met Jajaj before (saw him around in Jeuno a few times, though). But I really doubt he'll be in any parties I make. I won't ditch a different party just because he's in it, though, at least not until I get a chance to meet him.
 
Wow I've never heard any bad things about jajaj until now. He was in my LS for a while, think I PT'ed with him way back when too. Never had any problems.... :?
 
Sounds like another RNG wannabe, what a waste, can I MPK him? What's even more pathetic is when High levels go through with another job (Namely RNG or NIN, Expensive ones) and just fucking gimp it all the way up hoping to scrape by with their Rank 10 as a quick means to have the "edge" with invites ultimately to add another 75 job to the "collection" :roll:

and of course it's ALWAYS these 2 jobs since on their first job up it's plainly obvious they were poor as dirt and probably whored their way to 70+ asap, got some gil as a high level and decided to take one of the fastest leveling jobs up in RNG or NIN and spend some gil. I use the term "some" very loosely with all the Rank 10 level 40 and up RNG, and NIN gimps nowadays. Hell most of the RNG use a WAR sub since they are too lazy to even level Ninja, these are also known as the "Scary High levels" who know SO much and are always right when they say RNG/WAR is just as good as RNG/NIN in Xp parties. What a joke.

Fuck these crusty has beens, don't let a level 75 job scare you, should have booted that chump from the get go. He is a Ranger and he did a fucking dagger WS?! I would have called a GM on that, he deserved to lose his account.

Ah I realize you didn't know till after he you disbanded party, hmmm, ok take this reply as more of a summary on "Second job around" Rangers rather than as a direct response to the OP's thread.
 
Don't remember what class he was on, but if I remember right he AFK'ed for a good 40 minutes at one time (and after 15 half the party was trying to get the leader to kick him...)
He came back, as said, after about 40 minutes. AFK'ed again soon after, so we just booted him..
 
I partied with him on his Whm "Once" enuff said :evil:
