After having FFXI for a year, I finally decided to install the expansions yesterday. The only reason I kept putting it off was because I live in an area where phone companies force us to live slightly above Amish standards with dial up internet because they refuse to bring high speed here.
Anyways, after I clicked "Start installation" on CoP, I accidently cancelled it. I thought there'd be no problem, since the installation hadn't even really started. I'd just start the installation again.
After going through the whole process again, I recieved a message that CoP could not be installed because FFXI was not installed. I tried it again, and once more, recieved the message that FFXI was not installed.
I reinstalled the game but now I'm paranoid about trying to install any of the expansions until I get a hold of one of my friends with high speed, in case it happens again. However, I'm curious. Has anyone else have this happen to them when installing an expansion? I thought it was weird that cancelling the installation of an expansion would cause the whole game itself to uninstall. Might it be a fluke or a problem with my copy of CoP?
Thanks
