soooo i got one of the last couple available expansion packs from EB games...
yay

cost what it was supposed to.... yay

installed on pc... yay

checking all 14000 files and updating entire FFXI boooooooooo :(

its taking forever...

yea I feel the same. im at 10,000 files left to check and who knows how many to install after. Good thing is I talked to pebbles (author of polutils) and he assured me that i'll be able to read the rom4 .dats and such with the old polutils. :) (they just come up under chains of promathia, and it doesnt recognize blu cor and pup as other than job16 job 17 and job 18.

Either way, doesnt go live for another 6 hrs so I should be fine.

Got the last available copy in all the stores in my area.

Checking > 10,000 files at the moment :(

47% through the file check, supposed to take about 1 hr total since the download is much smaller than the check.

i d/c'd so restarted the count. 3k files left to check and what 600 to download? jeez

I hope the 1400+ files was the total files FFXI now has and not the amount of new files.. cause damn. running through 2100 new .dats would probably kill me.

weird i have 284 to download.

So what is being activated on the 20th? Everything? Or are we able to do the quest to at least access Aht Urghan?

maybe its resetting my mods back and thus I have more to re-download?
