More importantly, why are you buying prebuilt machines?

QFT!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Best Buy employees are hardly trained. Though some usually just know their stuff when they apply for the job, so you can cross your fingers, or go to a shop and get help building a custom which functions 100x better than a preebee, with people who are guaranteed to know their stuff.

I did work for BB once, and basically my first day composed of me bringing the "training books" and was told to toss them on the floor and start wiping shelves. Lol best buy.

Worked there for a year and a half and never got any considerable training, other than how to shove a warranty pamphlet in people's faces =)

My Bestbuy story -

Bought a CD changer for my Stereo. After a year one of the rca inputs on the back goes bad.

Take it in to have it fixed under warranty.

get it back two weeks later. Taking it out of the box, the CD tray FALLS OUT OF THE FRIGGIN MACHINE. Will not turn on at all.

Bring it in back in, fuming.

Get a call two days later saying my machine will NOT be returned and my Warranty is now null and void, as I had obviously severely mistreated the machine within the last two weeks...

... Eventually after many many calls and @ a month, I get it back, although they deny any wrongdoing. Barely limps along. Ended up tossing it anyway >:(
