Go and see this documentary at your local theater, and if you are too young for rated R movies then make your parents see it with you by whatever means necessary.

Can u enlighten me as to why this movie was made? I saw it while at the UCLA campus and thought it was irreverent to make a moive from it. The only justification would be if the families and victims receieved 100% of the movie's makings...but still.....i thought it was very distasteful...but i may just be being ignorant.

I don't really know why it was made, I suppose part of it was to show that there was no reason to sacrifice American lives in some foreign sand.

I don't think it was about 9/11 all that much, more about what happened after and it offered some alternative viewpoints on why America went to war.

I didn't find it distasteful at all, I found it educating, but then again, different people different needs. It was interesting to me to hear about the things the general public had very little knowledge about (i.e.: Saudi's flown out of the States even though all other planes were grounded, the relationship between the corporations and the Saudis, the views of service men and women stationed in Iraq, and of course Bush making an ass out of himself on any possible occasion.

I liked that even though Moore is clearly biased, he also didn't have many good things to say about Democrats (i.e. no senator signed the recount thingy, no kids of dem congressmen are in service, dems approved going to war, yadda yadda yadda).

I think the relevance in a way was to show a broader audience than those who read or watch CNN what the heck is going on in this country. Record movie ticket sales kinda prove that it was a good idea.

yeah!!! wooot I am going to see that my friend was harrassing me to go see it with him and it had slipped my mind. thanks for the reminder.

Me, Sabs, Rioka and another friend went and seen it last night.

Awsome . . . just awsome

I think everyone owes it to themselves to see it.

Dunno, you can say about MM whatever you like, but facts remain facts, no matter who presents them.

Is the movie biased? Yes.
Does he make jokes about Dubya? Yes.
Does that invalidate the facts presented? No.

You can argue the character all day long, it doesn't change some of the things shown. Go see it and draw your own conclusions, form your opinion, whether that opinion will agree with the opinion of others doesn't matter, what does matter is to educate yourself about some of the things shown which (unlike MMs opinion about Dubya) can not be disputed.

Seriously, if you choose to believe right-wing propaganda that is posted on the Internet nontheless (and we all know that if it is written online, then it must be true), then 90 minutes of documentary are not likely going to sway your point of view, or will they?

Did you not note...

That I compared him to rush limbaugh?

Moore brings the same trashy stupidity to the democrats that limbaugh has been bringing to the republicans for years.

Personally, I'd like to seal them both in a room together, make them fight to the death. Then not let the winner out - ever.

Me? Im something of a libertarian (I say that because every official member of the libertarian party and libertarian candidate Ive met has been an idiot.)

I am just saying that no matter how someone tries to twist things around for who knows what reasons, there are some things that can simply not be argued, because they do not allow for an alternative explanation.

Some 150+ Saudi's were flown out of the USA while every single other plane in this country was grounded, even medevac planes. I know the medevac thing for a fact because Alaska's then Governor Knowles authorized a medevac that was supposed to happen on the 11th on the 12th and made a statement that he doesn't care about the FAA, or the military or anyone else, he is gonna get that sick person in the village the treatment needed even if it costs him his job.

Then there is the fact that the Saudi's to date own 7% of the US economy, much of which they able to obtain with the aid of the Bush family and Dubya's best friend from the days of his intermittent National Guard service. No matter how biased the presentation, the records itself are not arguable.

Then there are 28 pages removed from the 9/11 report by the White House, under objection from Congress, some say they contain references to the Saudi's. Who knows for sure ...

Be that as it may, the message I got out of this movie was that a lot of things went wrong, and are questionable at best, and based on these things our nation went to war. So we have to ask ourselves, did we do the right thing? With the hindsight we have now, many think that we made a mistake, however, the administration doesn't think so.

What does that tell you about the state of this country, where the politicians are supposed to do what the people want them to do?

I am not against military, I grew up in a military family, my dad retired as an Army colonel. I believe we need a strong military to be able to defend ourselves against those who wish us harm. I do believe that we need to send our troops to kill every single one of those who try to harm us, and thus teach those who consider to harm us to not fuck with our nation.

However, I also strongly believe that those who do the job, the soldiers, those who have sworn to defend our country whatever the cost may be, should not be sent into harms way unless absolutely necessary, for they have to all too often make the ultimate sacrifice.
