Failed to Initialize Direct3D?

Thanx for the info, that explains a lot ^^

So basically, we are getting the performance we would from say ... a PS2 emulator running on PC, sucking all its need from the processor vs. sharing the load with the graphics card?
Then again, any good homebrew programmers would optimize the engine to run properly, yet a huuuuge conglom-o like SE just does basically a direct port, packs it into a box and says "here ya go"

Nice going SE

/continues never ending tweaking

Pretty much Asia. Tis why most people regardless of how awesome their graphics card is have the same graphics. PS2 vs. Computer isn't really all that discernable without paying very close attention. It sucks too because while my Card isn't top of the line, it can still run games and make them fairly pretty. Fable looks downright amazing, where as FFXI is kinda... meh. They're not horrible graphics, they just aren't anything to write home about either.
