Ok ive never so much as even thought about these jailer drops before so please forgive the question if it seems noobish. (and it most likely is)

For those jobs that use H2H as their main weapon of choice which is better: the Faith torque with its pure H2H skill in it or something like chivalrous chain, PCC with its pure acc?

Depending on your skill and merit placement, Faith Torque doubles as an addition to weapon damage. Otherwise it's just +7 Attack and +6.3 Accuracy. Better than PCC(varying degrees based on the rest of your equipment,) and not even comparable to Chiv. Chain.

i think faith torque is one of those end-game items that needs other endgame items of it's magnitude to accually hold it's merit.

shura togi and a sniper's +1 would be acceptable in the majority of cases to be able to melee in faith torque. Usukane sune-ate or hades santi +1 to warrant selling pcc altogether. (assuming mnk your only job)

Actually i was thinking of it for puppetmaster on top of H2H merits.

I'm assuming PUP could make more use of a PCC/PCA, for most situations, since you're gonna need to pile on as much Acc as possible with that lower H2H skill.

Ok. One more question. How would you feel about a faith torque on PUP with gear like the pahluwan set from assualts and eating sushi? (this would be on top of gear like two NQ snipers and potent belt/life belt. Currenty snipers +1 is a bit out of my price range unless i can find a crafter)

And being relatively inexperienced with PUP, if you find anything wrong with the gear i mentioned and feel there is something i SHOULD be using by all means tell me.

Edit: sushi..not meat. sorry

PUP will make more use of Faith torque because attack gear is severly lacking. There are a lot of other slots were you stack accuracy. If anything, remove your haste gear for accuracy gear in merit on mamoljas (80% acc with sushi), you can keep them for imps, birds etc ; but when you get a piece with attack grab it unless the + accuracy is a huge amount.

For example get an attack earring instead of diabolos earring, dont use swift belt in merits, use Pahluwhan head.

Pahluwhan is a nice set till usukane. An "easy" item for the legs are the Volounteer Brais that give acc +6 (cost like 30,000 IS and some rather high rank I think). I say easy because it doesn't imply salvage gear. Backpiece : get bellicose mantle (attack 6), belt : life belt in merits parties, earrings attack earring and, if you have, brutal earring.

When you consider that PUP lacks the Martial Arts traits of Monk, has no access to Coloured Belts or Fuma Sune-Ate, and is also unable to use Dusk set, you're gonna want to use all the haste you can. Where you don't have haste you're gonna want the maximum Accuracy you can get (i.e. Peacock).

With regard to the neck slot and whether or not you need the Acc, let's assume that you're going to be using haste gear wherever possible. Meaning...

I'd recommend one of these:

...over one of these:

So to compensate for the lack of Acc in other slots, I'd therefore use this:

...over this:

It's important to consider what your entire setup is before making a judgement about whether "this" is better than "that". Like Roadkill said, a MNK could make more use of a Faith Torque provided he's using a setup that focuses heavily on Acc to compensate for it.

In before Pch- nevermind.

No

monk : haste > attack > accuracy

pup : attack > accuracy > haste

No

monk : haste > attack > accuracy

pup : attack > accuracy > haste

Eh.

I'm not gonna turn this into a PUP debate, but you can't just say "no u" without giving a reason.

It's a PUP debate check the op. If you want justifications assume that you punch for N per hit,

with O hat and life belt you get, if in a certain amount of time T you do 100 swings, 80 will connect (80% accuracy) for 80xN damage.

With Turban and swiflt belt, in the same time T, the 9% delay reduction translates into +10% swings, aka 110 swings but with -17 accuracy ( 71.5% accuracy) in which case only 78 hits connect for (n-1) damage each (swift has -5 attack) ; total 78(N-1).

What i'm saying is that 80N > 78(N-1).

Faith Torque > all. 3 accuracy is nothing at 75; especially for a job with an A+ weapon, plenty of accuracy gear already and a accuracy boosting JA. And in exp you'd be eating sushi anyways, so the 3 accuracy of a PCC would be even more wasted as it is.

You don't need other gear to "make-up" for the deficiencies of the faith torque; unless the rest of your gear sucks, in which case you probably wouldn't have a torque anyways. Once you get a torque, you'd only use a PCC for level capped areas.

Haste gives increasing returns, so it doesn't just translate simply to 9% delay reduction. And like I said, you should be stacking enough Acc elsewhere to compensate for it. If you're whiffing like crazy, use sushi and/or buy more Acc.

buy more Acc.

I don't think you understand the dilemma of puppetmaster as a melee job.

Though, the reason they're so limited in equipment is because they were designed so that the player is the supplemental damage, where as the automaton is the primary. Quite like a Beastmaster soloing. Only your pets not quite as strong, and neither are you.

I agree with this, but lolpup doesn't do anything anyways, level a real job.
