Yesterday began much like many of my days go, but nothing was the same. I woke up about kind of late for work and franticly tried to get my eyes to focus on my dimly lit alarm clock so I could see just how bad the damage was, damn contacts. It was bad today, a whole hour and a half. Struggling out of bed, I tried to remember how I got home and what I did, but to my dismay, nothing came to mind, so I brushed it off. Walking over to my gateway to the world, by now I wasn’t going to work, I smelled that horrible stench that I have to put up with what seems to be every day now.
My brother was smoking in the garage. The smoke billowing into my room, underneath my makeshift door, and filling the entire room with its cancerous fumes and toxins. Thanks for sharing with me bro. My computer monitor made that familiar hum it normally does, letting me know everything was ok. But as I sat in my overpriced chair, banging my still frozen fingers on my overpriced keyboard, while looking at my shotty monitor and wondering where I went wrong, I got an idea. I was going to get sushi today. Something I haven’t done for quite a while it seemed.
Turning on one of my messengers, I sent a few IMs to mostly a field of Aways or Idels. No one. No one answered me. Few more minuets go by, and my cousin signs on. I proceed to shoot the shit with him for a little while, only to have some familiar names come back from away or idle, and IM me with the generic "Yo dude, whats up?" My day was set. I was going to get sushi and eat pastries all afternoon. My friend Carlo, would call this a Yosh moment and rightfully so, it was a Yosh moment.
I did my routine, and headed out to get some raw fish. I don’t know why I like it so much, but I do. (This is the part where Vang calls me a fan boy, and I go to my crying corner and cry for a while, but Vang doesn’t read RL board anyway!) As I go to my friend’s house, the people start building up and we all head out. Mmmmm, sushi is only moments away, and I can’t be more content in life right now. Except her, she still won’t talk to me.
A few weeks back, I was honest with her, and she got upset and left. She doesn’t want to talk to me, but I was honest, I owed her that, it’s what I had to do. Today is her birthday, and no matter how many times I call, or how many emails I send, I get nothing. My relationships never turn out the way I envision them. Never how I plan them. Never how I want them to be, but hey fuck it, I'm getting sushi right now and its all good. All the cars pull in and park, and we set out, in the chilling and snowy weather, as a mad dash ensues to the two black sliding doors. A sign overhead reads "Japanese Food"; it brings a smile to my face.
I eat my sushi, and my friend vegetables, along with my favorite pastries, and we all set back out again. "Hey maybe I should go home and play some FFXI? Nah no point", I told myself, and just went to my friends house. The time was 4pm, and I had to go to my other job very soon, and this made me real unhappy. I'm a 22 year old kid, with 2 jobs, and I hate both of them. My only hope was that the place burned down, and I didn’t have to go. Why am I always wrong lately? Hmmm, weird.
As I get to work, I see there is no one there, and it is relatively dead. My manager tells me I have nothing to do today, and I can do whatever. My day just got better all of a sudden, as I get to play Xbox360 for the next two hours. I don’t know what the game was, but it felt like watching a movie. I had a sniper rifle, and it was World War II, and I was nipping Nazis in the butt. Soon there was a crowd forming around me, to watch me play, full of employees and customers. I'm pretty good at first person shooters, and I take pride in that. My only downside is that games bore me too fast, and asside from some MMORPGs, where I get to interact with other people, I just toss the game aside, and never even reach the half mark.
It was soon closing time, and I was invited to go out with some guys and gals from my work, an opportunity I chose to pass up tonight, since I had two parties this weekend already planned, and three for next weekend. I just love when people’s parents, those who still live with parents, go away for a weekend or a week. It makes everything a lot better, and I don’t have to deal with the ensuing mess and smell, along with all the carpet and wall stains that will surely come. I headed to my friends house.
On the way, I stopped off for Taco Bell. "Mmmmmmm, Taco Bell", I said to myself. I love Taco Bell. Anyone that hasn’t tried their Taco Salad, should go try it. It is one of the greatest creations ever. Their taco salad is a salad with taco meat, all in a crunchy and delicious shell that’s actually great to eat. I picked up food and went to my friends’ house. I was excited to know that he still had my drug of choices, Captain Morgan, lying around, and I once again, was getting blasted. After about 2 hours of drinking and just talking, I was asked to take off my pants. Never one to turn down a challenge, especially drunk, I did so. I got the usual response, and my deed was done. We went back to drinking, but even daylight was drawing near.
I staggered into my house at about three thirty in the morning, only to take a long drawn out pee break. I took a few bottles of water into my room, and closed the door. The house was quiet, the heater was on, and it was nice and warm. I was finally home after my long day of travels, work and drinking. But my day wasn’t over yet. I busted out some knuckle children and turned on the TV. After 10 minuets of channel surfing, I somehow ended up on Lizzy McGuire. I don’t know how to spell her name, and I don’t care, I was pretty drunk, but not drunk enough to drive home, the kind of drunk where I have to ask myself what I'm doing is ok to do. So after 20 minuets of Lizzy I passed out. My day was finally over. It began on a whim, and ended with a pre-teen strutting her shit on TV.
I can’t help to wonder as I sit and type this; where is my life going? Where am I headed? Am I headed there alone? Why did I type this long and useless post that no one in their right mind will read? Will I ever like my job? Can I go to lunch right now, and not come back? Finally; why does nothing I really want, ever actually happen to me? I mean why does life always miss me on the good stuff that everyone else gets?
Thank you for reading "A Day in the Life of Falsey"! I hope your days goes a little better than mine.
