Fan Festival 2006

Are you planing to attend?

If you are, would you consider wearing a QCDN tshirt for more of the event? Tshirt isn't designed yet, but it would be something along the lines of "Kick-ass Server Community 2005" or so, who knows. :)

They aught have a Euro fanfest

holy shiet you see those people in that pic? Even if i wanted to i can't be seen with them. But i'd like a QCDN shirt anyways if you make me one i'll even buy it :)

damn never knew such uglies played the game

Hmm..never been to an FFXI fan event such as this one.
I might consider going. Keep in touch regarding representing our server.
I'll check first with some other friends IRL, and ls mates they want in too.

Chasym if you are reading this...
This is your opportunity to debut your movies! ^_^

Avalar if you can see this...
Show off your art! ^_^

Hrm.. Probably not. California is on the other side of the US for me. Maybe if it went to Atlanta or somewhere more in the southeast/midwest sure. Not even sure if I have those dates off for spring break yet or not.

Depends on the price of the shirt. Most of the sponsored t-shirts I have came from free giveaways.

I was thinking of going, til I saw tickets were $85.

I'm not going to pay that much to see the dev team not answer our questions.:nono:

wooo it's in Cali? yayaya but still doesn't help the fact that most these kids are geekbags.

Suggestions? Can we get some normal ppl to go with me?

Turn up with a petrol bomb and be all 'FIREGA!' and throw it into the crowd of costumed weirdos.

I'd love to go, but it's about 2200 miles from my house. about a 31 hour Drive.

If anyone wants to swing by Knoxville and pick me up, I'll pay for gas. I live about 2 minutes from I-40, so you wouldn't have to stray too far
I also get discounts on Hotel rooms as I work for the Carlson Chain.

25.00/day for any standard room at any Carlson hotel, worldwide.

I'm not too far from there. I might be able to see what I can do.

$85?!?

I went to the event they held in gardena, california at IPC, which coinscedently (?) is where I play the game anyways. It was prety fun but I would never have payed more than $20 to get in. I live very close to Santa Monica but I wouldn't pay anywhere near that much to sit with a bunch of people that dont know what deoderant is, when I could see a rock concert for under $50.

I went to the Seattle EQ Fan Faire in ..., 2000 it was I think.
It was like $165 or so if I remember that correctly (two day event). You would get a Fan Faire Kit that had a tshirt in it, and some other stuff. The fan faire was cool, there were some live action quests, lots of talk with devs, some good workshops, and lots of partying with people I have been raiding with in EQ forever and a day. I'd go to an event like the Fan Festival if I could comfortably fit it into my schedule and budget, it's fun, almost guaranteed fun.

Forgot to mention the shirt thing, I think its a cool idea. It woul have t obe something simple for me to wear. White/Black with maybe a college type thing, QCDN across the top, a motto on the bottom and maybe a simple symbol/outline of quetz with wings spread like in FF8. I'd pay...$25 shipped for it.

The tshirt thing was just an idea to sort of show off at the Fan Festival as a group. Depending on how many people would be going I could perhaps just pay for the shirts myself, or make it a donation basis or something.

That everyone who is going is showing QCDN off would be important to me personally, but I also think that it would be an awesome way to show other servers how strong the Quetzalcoatl community is. I wouldn't want that people are "forced" to pay for a shirt.

Creating QCDN merchandise for general purposes is what has crossed my mind on more than one occasion. Outfits like Cafepress could be used. I just never got around to actually asking for designs that would be wanted. Perhaps that's something we can do next year. The "official QCDN logo of the year (QLOTY)" or something.

I am not a religious person, but good grief, I do feel a little bit like missionaries must be feeling. I just want people to know how much they miss out on by not having a server community. It's not even about getting more people to join QCDN, it's to show others what can be achieved.

Sure, there's a lot of drama on QCDN, but just like in real life, it seems like there is enough good coming out of QCDN to offset all the drama as well.

Yeah I'm thinking about going... free shirt? Sure, I'll wear it. XD

I would go if it wasnt so much money to go. Its only about a 3 hour drive from here....but meh
