for starters i check on FFXIAH.com and see that someone bought my tele-Vhazl scroll.
then elph and i finally take her car to the saturn dealership to get it checked out and see the totak cost of fixing it up. which btw turned out to add up to mor ethen the cars actual value. but while we wait for over an hour at the dealership they finally come to us and say the diagnostic is done.........and they spent the last 15 minutes looking for her keys.:shok: they lost her keys durring the check and to make up for their mistake they gave us a discount on the diagnostic. a 100% discount. $60 elph was dreading to spend and lost keys save the day.
fast forward to TGI fridays. good food and great service and slackers in the kitchen add up to yet another 100% discount. :bb: elph ordered a club and i ordered myself a steak. it took longer then we expected and the manager found that his cooks were both on a break thinking the other was watching our meals. took 20 minutes to get our food. and having worked in a applebee's before i know for a fact: 20 minutes late when the place is empty and the manager flips. he delivers our plates himself bought our meals to appologise. we still tipped our waitress cause she was kewl.
then we come home. its static night and we been lookin forward to it all day. its only 4 of us, PLD, RNG(me), WHM(elph) & a RDM. so we only have to look for another pair of DD's (or a DD & a bard). so i invite a DRK and a WAR this time. 64's down the board so we go to bibiky bay to rip up the birds. when we get there i notice that our DRK isnt wearing a hauby, so i check him out. this is what i see:
that screenshot wast taken after the party btw. at first glance i thought the usual. "aw shit where did this gimp come from! ECT" i play it kewl at first and talk civil to him asking about his gear. basicly he tells me he doesnt have any more str gear on him (it was in his MH) but that he'll be fine DMG wise. the war, Twinblake, is dressed as would be expected so im expecting him and i to be doing all the dmg & . but boy was i surprised when our DRK with almost no STR gear pumps out a 1k+ Guillotine on his first WS (he wasnt wearing his AF helm i dont think). he used the whole souleater, resort & zerk combo yes but next WS all he has up is zerk. and he nearly matches his first WS. i quickly realize that he uses his spells to compensate for his missing str gear. and in turn also softens up the mobs for the rest of us. this led to fast kills and good fun with me SC'ing with whoever was ready. hit dmg was really high till we moved up to dhamels. everyones dmg took a hit when we switched mobs but his didnt drop as low as i expected.
its player like him that always remind me to give people a chance and not be hasty. if he had turned out to be a gimp, as i feared, and held my group back i would have booted him. im glad i didnt. my group had a good time and all 4 of us hit 65 as we planned. we got him his lvl too.
sorry for the long post but today was the best day i've had in weeks. both ingame and out.
