I was just wondering if anyone has played this and if it is worth the $10 monthly for online play. I know it has online and offline mode both but didn't want to spend the $10 if the online isn't that great. Any one have some info?

A few of us on this server played PSU the first one or two months of its release and I don't know about them but I couldn't find much to do after awhile. I've heard since then they added more level caps and they added areas like Forest and Caves from PSO. They give you one free month, I believe. It's worth checking out if it's free.

Ive been on Phantasy Star since PS1, and then PSO since DC.

I loved PSO ep1&2 on GC, and <3'd Blue Burst. I was anticipating PSU a lot... But never actually got it, or even played it. I really want to, but, meh.

I may, sooner or later.

It'd be so much better if Partner Machine AI was actually good.

This is was a big reason why i didn't feel like still paying the fee for it. It was also very limited in things to do.

I was like the only person on the planet who wanted to do something other than de ragan runs, and even then i wanted to do the 2 headed dragon.

Stupid dragons....

PSU was terrible compared to PSO especially. It felt like a watered-down wannabe PSO. All style, no substance.

It came close, but really couldn't pull off the feel of PSO, no matter how hard it tried. Disappointing really, as I've played PSO since the dreamcast days...

If the first month is free I guess I might as well check it out since I did buy it already. It just hasn't shown up yet....Stupid Amaxon.com and it delivery. I got the game and the guide at tehsame time. The guide showed up 3 days after I ordered it but the game still has not got here 10 days later. Thanks for the info

I loved the game. If all my friends still played it, I'd still be playin'. Without a steady group of friends to do things with, it's a snoozefest though. Story mode wise, it's a great game. I really love the story an can't wait for the expansion.

Early on they released the online version of it without any content, at all. Caps were... well, retarded, and there wasn't much to do. Most of us here played it and moved on after about a month of waiting for content and never receiving any. I suppose if there's more substance to it now it'd be worth it with some friends, but I still don't see how they can flare it up much more.

Story mode has some horrendous voice acting, but is actually pretty fun to be honest. I liked having a simple controller for the game rather than the wierd keyboard controls. Perhaps if they added a little substance to the online version, i.e. some story, some actual purpose, then it'd be more fun in that respect.

The biggest problem with PSU is that this is probably the only mission that gives serious EXP early on. My biggest peeve with the game is distribution of exp. There is no real ensentive beyond the dragon fight.

Game's OK, but De Ragan is pretty much the only mission remotely worth the xp vs difficulty ratio...some of the newer missions (relics on Moatoob) are disgustingly difficult and give very little XP, for some reason...Game has good potential but some crap they badly needed to fix, if they haven't yet. =/

I like how the OP song mentions Earth, when Earth doesn't even exist in the f-!king game. Did these people even PLAY the game they were translating?

I like how shitty the AI is for AI controlled teammates.

Oh wait, no I don't.

I played this for a little while hoping to find out what I missed with Phantasy Star Online, and apparently I missed it again because everyone says that Phantasy Star Universe is worse. I kind of get the idea, though; you cannot go anywhere but up from this game.

I played this for the first month or so, it was horrid due to the fact that there was nothing to do but level to 50 or something. They had a world locked, then finally when they opened it there wasn't anything there except for more worthless areas.
Never had any quests to do or story missions while I played, I hear they added more stuff but from the sounds of it they didnt add a whole lot. Maybe they have new weapons now? Dunno maybe someday it will be worthwhile.
There is no CD key or anything so you can just download the game btw :x

A/S-class weapons are out but the higher-grade A weapons and all of the S weapons are owned by people who made billions back during the money hack period that Sega never really resolved.

*edit* A few legit players do in fact own an S weapon or two, but of course the odds they get the board as well as all the junk needed to make them is nearly nonexistant.
