Farewell Quetz

Yep, you guessed it. It's one of those i'm done with the game posts you see all too often nowadays.

While I'm gonna say I have quit, i'm still gonna keep the door open some to possibly return someday if I ever find the desire to play this again. So before you ask "Can I have your stuff?", the answer is my character is staying the way I'm leaving it so I may be able to play it again someday. I'll be playing the game up until Monday evening where i'll then say my goodbyes to people.

Basically I have just grown bored of the game lately and no matter what SE do in terms of updates and expansion packs, it just hasn't rekindled my interest in wanting to play. My decision may not come as a surprise to some since I havn't been on the game at all in the last month or more aside from Monday and Thursday Einherjar (which I lead in Perseverance) and Saturday Dynamis (again in Perseverance). As you can understand I can't justify paying for 2 accounts (me and my mule char) for such little time online. To others this may come as a surprise because I may have come accross as one of those people who you'd think would be on the game forever^^. Sorry if my decision is gonna upset anyone, but I hope you can see where i'm coming from with this.

I have been playing the game since day 1 of the EU release (which is like 4 years and 4 months or so now), and have made many friends (and enemies^^) over the course of time. I havn't been in that many linkshells in that time and i'd consider myself a comitted and loyal person to whoever I happened to work with in a group. Now for the obligatory shout outs and thankyou's.

Perseverance - My linkshell of the past 2 years or so (for every event including dynamis, limbus, einherjar, HNM's). You guys have gave me the best home in the whole online world. It was an honour to be an officer/leader for you and I just hope you guys continue being a success story on Quetz. I have made an extended post on our own forums thanking you all, so to save repeating myself here just go read it there^^. To past members I met, it was a pleasure playing with you and I hope your time with Perseverance was worthwhile, it sure was for me. Without you guys i'd have never got items like Valkyries Fork, Ace's Helm, Herald Gaiters etc, so I'm eternally grateful for that.

The Dynamis Show/ Encore - It was a pleasure to come to runs with you guys, and i'm sorry I had to leave when Perseverance decided to do their own runs. There was a lot of fun times and I met a whole bunch of cool and interesting people who are still kicking ass today I see. Grats on your Gungnir Audino, I knew you'd finish it eventually^^.

Affinity - My first real end game linkshell. We kicked a lot of ass back in the day and although it's members have dispersed to every corner of Quetz, I really enjoyed the time I spent with you. Glad to see you guys are getting rewards for your efforts in linkshells like Kaizen and Perseverance, you always deserved what you got. I know you havn't played FFXI for some time now but if you happen to read this Atiba, I owe you one. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of your ls.

SpiritzUnleashed - Where it all began. While it seems a hell of a long time now since I was there, I'm grateful to all the people who made my time in SU a happy one. It was a pleasure to be a leader/sackholder during the time I was there and it's nice to see a lot of the folks I knew there still alive and kicking on Quetz. A big thankyou to Taray and Leeeleee for making me welcome there.

Reya - I know you may not realise it, but you meant so much to me in game. Along with Meikolia you 2 were the greatest friends I had in game. Such a spirited and kind person, I cherished our friendship and enjoyed your company. I was delighted to hear of your relationship with Raesvelg (in real life of course) blossoming and your career outside of the game going ok (I think), it made me happy to see you happy. While it saddened me deeply to hear you left for another server cause of a RL friend you knew, I know that what you did was for the best. Don't be a stranger sweetie, I do like you a lot so if you could keep in contact that would make me very happy. You have my email address, or if you don't anymore just PM me here^^ Auro-poo gonna be gone now

To any enemies I made - I don't think I particulary "hated" anyone. My blacklist remained empty for the most part so i'm sure any bad blood there was between us was probably just a misunderstanding or difference of opinions. No hard feelings, ok?

To clarify anything, I never botted (omg, you were in perse and didn't bot???). It's the total truth whether you choose to believe me or not. My ls can testify that I never ever used windower even, let alone any 3rd party tools^^. I guess it kinda proves why I didn't claim much lol.

So yea, I guess that's it. I'll be online today and monday evening for a short time if you wanna send a tell or something, and after that I will deactivate (not delete) my account. I'll most likely check QCDN now and then since I tend to troll the anime section nowadays^^.

You were one of the best people I had come to of known in FFXI. I was able to share many things in my life that was going on and felt very comforted knowing I had such a great friend to talk to. You were always fun to be around. Even the long boring stuff, like camping HNMs for hours and hours, I knew it would not be bad because you were there to be with me. The things we did together, even the smallest, for example our assault static, was something I always looked foreword to each week and stands out in my mind the most fun I have had in my four years of playing. It was a real honor to be with you and Pers. When I joined the LS you became more to me than my friend but also a mentor. I apologize for leaving so suddenly both from this server and this game without keeping communication. I really want to continue our relationship and I will PM you my e-mail information. I hope to hear from you soon Auro-poo and best of luck in the new adventures await you!

I already wrote something on Pers website, but yeah there is always something you miss or wish you wrote back when trying to say goodbye to someone. So in hopes of not missing anything, here it goes.

Take care of yourself Auro, and it was fun. The little time I had to play with you ingame will not be forgotten and it will be missed with you not there anymore. You made friends ingame and also memories, both of which I hope you take with you and remember. If you do come back and I'm still around, perhaps then we reached the point where when we reflect on the things we did and who we did them with, the meaning behind it all will mean much more to us then it did before.

Until the next meeting down a road unknown to all, I hope and wonder in awe of what is next to come.
