Four months ago I grew a bit bored of FFXI and rather then quitting I chose to try a new experience, a true end-game shell. As hard a decision it was to leave all my friends behind on Quetz this decision was just as hard to leave Vanadiel. I've played since my freshmen year in high school (2003) but I quit and restarted a couple times, but the most recent Nakoa has been my character since 2006. In those three years I've made a lot of great friends and accomplished things I would've never though of when I started playing the game. Sooo... I guess this is where I list all the people I've had the joy of calling friends in my time playing.
Andreus, Phynx, Duragon, Kyoshi, & Kuulei - the RL friends I had that actually got me into FFXI to start, even though they quit before me if it weren't for them there was no way I'd even consider playing the game.
NoizyTribe - you guys gave me a home when my RL friends quit, for this I thank you, otherwise I probably would have quit.
TheArtofWar - some of the craziest players I've had the pleasure of encountering, met a lot of great, great friends and players here. By far the shell that I stayed in for the longest, oh how I will miss our hillarious late-night chat.
MadeInChina - although it only lasted for a little while and we didn't get to finish out all the plans and aspirations that we had it was fun while it lasted.
Nephilim - gave me my first "end-game" experience, very grateful for all the things you guys helped me get. I still remember when I called the dual-w.legs drop that I got mine on
KnightsofAsgard - Some of the best players I've been able to play with for sure with some of the best leadership as well, even though they were tarus >.>;;
Koolaid - how I managed to get a couple quality players to rush through nyzul through shouts is beyond me, but somehow it happened.
RagnarokSea - although shortlived it was very fun running around sea with you guys.
Beyond (Phoenix) - the dirty whores I left all of you for, best group of players I've EVER had the pleasure to play with while still being humble and for the most part drama-free. They gave me a shot when I didn't have that much end-game experience and it was the most fun and intense three months I've had in FF, whether it was the near whipe khim that put out sowado (haute), the late night 8-man faf, or the epic meripos that we had (chain 506 baby). Sorry I kinda just dropped off the face of the planet. With them I got so many pieces of equipment that I never thought I'd get and fought mobs that I never thought I'd be able to fight.
If I missed anyone, I'm very sorry, tbh I'm making this decision on a day of thinking but at this point I know that quitting is the best thing for me and if I don't do it now it'll just be harder and harder.
To everyone - I'm sorry I'm having to leave the game prematurely, there were things I still wanted to do and things I still wanted to get, but for me times have been tough and I haven't had as much time to play as of late. I told everyone on Quetz that I'd be back some time before I retired but sadly I'm not gonna be able to fulfill that. I'll still lurk the forums and keep in touch, stay thirsty my friends.
