Farmers and NPCers in The boyahda tree

Also remember that NPCers hate moving, especially when they're being forced out. In general, a party can transport itself to a different camp without too much hassle. If an NPCer gets their camp interrupted by an invading party, their zoning/warping/whatever means they don't level their NPC again for 19-20 hours, barring Tactics charges.
It's not that easy for a party to move to a new camp. Assuming you have a whm, which is a somewhat big assumption, moving from that camp at the tree, which took you 20 minutes to get to, means you'll be moving to KRT (15 minutes) Kuftal (10 minutes) cape terriggan (15 minutes) or gustav (10 minutes) Without a whm several of these zones require getting a tele-whore, or will take upwards of half an hour to get to.

It's not so much the people leveling NPCs there as it is showing up to find the camp void of mobs, with no possible way of knowing through searching before leaving, or having a NPC'er show up at a camp you are already at, and killing your exp.

If you're leveling your NPC before I get there and you don't have a search comment explaining why you're there, I have every right to be pissed off at you wasting my time. The same holds true from when I used to level Beastmaster. I got to the point where I thought I was the only Beastmaster who used a search comment and did not EXP /anon.

Also, if you're leveling your NPC and you get to the zone well after an established party, GTFO. Last week I was leveling my Ninja in Garlaige Citadel, so you know the EXP/hour was already garbage. My party was near the Banishing Gate, so we had no competition. About two hours later, a Mithra who appeared to be around level 65 shows up (/anon and I don't /check people that aren't in my party). She isn't the first person to come by the Banishing Gate, and in fact, we opened the gate for several people while EXPing. However, her intentions were to level her NPC. Not only was this rude, it absolutely killed our EXP. She killed enemies almost as fast as we were, and that area really does not support but one group of people.

Any other NPC leveler doesn't bother me. In fact, if you come in to EXP on the same mobs many are fighting, they're more than willing to share the mobs. Some are even grateful if you take a link from them (and vice versa on my end).

The NPC problem is becoming a serious pain in the ass, I fully agree with Stout. I have a hard time remembering an Exp session when I didn't see people+NPC showing up and clearing all the mobs. Kuftal is the prime example, it's NPC-leveller heaven (or is it hell?).

What is more intriging is that when u're alone, in that I agree with Cubs, crabs are the prime candidate and therefore it's ok to have CC on crabs when there is only guy. 1 guy + NPC kill crabs slow enuf uually ;) Problem is, people take on crabs with 3 + 3 NPC and those thing die so fast they just clear the place.

I wish SE would actually put an exp loss for NPC when the character levelling it is much higher level. That would solve most if not all the problems (much slower killing = better). Levelling NPC is not even challenging, it's a chore. And it's something that makes overcamped places even more overcamped.

Yes, a level 55 party can take a robber crab from a level 75 ass leveling his NPC, and wanna guess how much exp that party is gonna get for the kill? 11-15 exp, more with chain.

was ment to explain why the GM didnt do anything, not that it was ok.

I'd like to see that, make the NPC get exp as if they were an actual person in the party. If they're 20 levels down and you're killing EP, they get 5 exp per kill or so. If they're above your level, they get capped to your level and suffer the same exp gimp you would get in level capped CoP zones. If the NPC isn't getting more exp than the player is, you won't see someone demolishing EP and wasting their NPC time.

The problem with that is that some jobs can't kill stuff for shit without a party.

Boyahda is the only place I level my NPC... however I take the Elder Gobbues only because I can make decent money per hour at the same time that way.

Most jobs can't, but should your NPC get exp for just standing there and wiffing away at a mob 30 levels above them while you kill it? If you tried to do that with a player, they would get virtually no exp at all. NPC levelers seem to have no problem finding small parties, and a healer and a melee can easily take down some VT's, especially when aided by 2 mentally challenged NPC's.

to all of you who do this religiously, FUCK YOU
especially the JP faggots..
one 2 nights ago just ran around with the exp mobs on his tail and killed other shit so no other xp mobs could spawn, but if we pulled one of them off of him, we kill it and get no exp.. that pissed me off...
spider campers, i dont really care about anymore cause im above lvl for those exp mobs... but seriously.. and the GM didnt do shit to that nin cuz hes JP.. is wear it.. w/e..
(Admittedly, I haven't fully read through every one of your posts yet, so if someone already said this, then I apologise.)
Personally, in my opinion, there's more things in this game than just getting experience points. Unless you're going to sell the gil to someone else, it's just a game, and they need money the same as you need experience. I mean, whoever gets there first should get the area to themselves... whether they're there to farm, level their NPC's, solo, party, or anything. I mean... I've been in some parties that've actually gotten pissed off at BST soloing by a camp. WTF kids? BST need their experience too.

Well.....I'm betting that (since the expansion is focusing on more solo content) you will need your fellow for alot of the expansion......if thats the case.....your only going to see this Fellow problem escalate....very quickly, so enjoy things how they are now, cause I'm sure it will get worse before it gets better.

It's annoying as hell, but we can't blame them. I came close a lot of times to telling a NPC leveler to fuck out of the tree but held back because they'd have as much right to be there as me.

General rights to be in ANY zone are equal, but it's not exactly a backbreaking effort to find a place to XP your NPC in places that aren't EXP-Party heavy. I wanna scream every time I see retards XPing their NPC off the Soldiers in the main basement when the other basement is barren usually 22 hours a day (rest of the time tends to be a farmer or people clearing for Escort or AF)

The Boyahda Tree case is especially annoying to me though. I mean there's at least eight zones with Robber Crabs, why not just goto Toraimarai or one of the areas in Gustav no one goes to, instead of halfassing it and going to one of the most used XP zones in the GAME and risking getting in these huge wars with these parties whom, no offense, I think could use XP more than a NPC?

On the bright side, if the standard EXP zones are conquered by NPC parties, maybe the normal EXP parties will learn to think outside the box and find alternate zones. It's not exactly right for high level NPC levellers to use traditional zones, but the majority of the XI population suffers from extreme tunnel vision. They only know one way to accomplish any goal, and will refuse till the end of time to try something new. Unless a level 75 player says that a JP player once did X idea years ago at game creation, then X idea is totally unreasonable, and one is a noob for considering it. So yeah, the problem is half the NPC levellers and half a closeminded population that lacks any capacity for individual thought.

Cry baby faggots should learn about other areas to exp. Goes hand in hand with both PTs and NPCers. DAVOI4LIFE

I leveled my NPC from 60-65 in Davoi, on the island with Dirtyhanded Gotchyanutz.

That same level range there are several other good options, but the reason that parties go to the tree is because it's the best exp for most parties.

Dire Bats in KRT don't have that great of a camp for fast chaining, the pulls can be long, and you'll have to toss in a scorp every once in a while.

Raptors and Spiders in kuftal are nice, but spiders link and raptors hit hard and fast, although they die fast. They're also a level or two above tree crabs.

Stygian pugils in Tor. Canal are nice, but it's a hassle to get to them and most parties are too afraid to exp in the zone because they don't know it.

Sand lizards in kuftal are nice, and only a level below tree robbers, but good luck with them if there's people camping amemet, which the gilsellers always are. The crabs in kuftal are 2 levels down from the tree ones.

Goblins and crabs in gustav are a couple levels above tree crabs, but they hit a whole lot harder, and diaga can really mess up a party without erase, and you won't have it from /whm at that level.

Bunnies and lizards in cape terriggan are nice too, but you need to watch out for gobs in the area which are too difficult for parties at this level to exp on.

Crabs in cape are a couple levels above tree crabs, and the pugils are a couple levels above them, and you'll probably have to fight pugils just because they are in the way and aggro.

There are plenty of other good camps, but when you're 53-56 the best spot for your party is boyahda crabs for almost all party setups. They don't hit hard, they don't have any devistating TP moves (provided you have a dispel) and they are weak to ice and lightning, 2 of the easiest elements to make a MB for. Toss in the fact that there are 2 camps for them, with 9 spawns each that are all in a very small area close to camp, and you can easily see why parties exp there.

I don't see why NPC levelers can't recognize that there's much better spots for solo exp. Camp the 5 hectaeyes in KRT and kill dire bats waiting on respawn. If your NPC is a healer they will take care of paralyna, if they are a tanker sub whm to paralyna them. You'll get faster kills than crabs, and maybe get a burning eye or two, which sell for what now, 200k each?

I've never had good experiences with Rarabs...Whirl Claws tends to hit very hard AND have a pretty good range, tends to cause hell for the healer..
And you talk like the Hecteyes mobs aren't killed virtually 24/7 nowadays. =P

Stout, nice post, but I'm afraid the only reason people do what they do is not they don't know that (I'd say for 75% of them at least, especially those rank10 JP in kuftal or tree), it's simply... they don't give a shit.

As I can foresee BLU to me an awesome soloer, that will just add to this whole mess I bet.

oh well...
