Farming Aern Organs

After 2.5hrs of solo killing Aerns (I kill about 8-10 per hour Im estimating) I have yet to get an NQ Organ to drop (ie. for Soil Gorget). I split my time between Ul'Yovras and Om'Yovra's both outside.

This is the only type of organ I've never tried farming until a couple days ago and am wondering if their drop rate is better in some places then others. I know the HQ's don't drop from the Aerns outside so maybe their NQ drop rate isn't as good as the rest of the organs outside either.

If anyone has spent a considerable time farming these and have some good advice on farming places/strategies for these please let me know as I have to farm 13 of these things and don't want to spent 40hrs doing it (at the rate I'm going).

Also if anyone knows how to tell when they will reraise or if they have a chance to drop an organ after reraising this would also save me some time.
 
The reraised aern can drop organs too Deci. I think it's just completely random. I trioed the majority of my aern organs with Myi and Stouts, and it seems like dumb luck on the drops. We'd get some back to back and then nada...

Supposedly, the tougher Aerns have a higher drop rate, but I got almost all my organs from the lowest tier and a few Om's.

I still haven't parsed soil versus PCC. So, maybe you'll beat me to it and save me the effort. :smile:

That night you were at the gate soloing them Deci - my static pulled one Aern and got an NQ organ. I think you're just on a streak of bad luck.
 
The way HQ organs work is that they only drop in the zone where you use them to pop a jailer. HQ Hpmede/Phaubo/Xzomit drop outside, where you pop the 2nd tier jailers of those types with them, HQ aerns drop in Huxzoi where you pop the Ix'Aern with them, and HQ euhvi in RuHmet where you pop Jailer of Faith with them.

I know the Euhvi organs drop a lot faster off the higher level mobs, which are also the ones that drop HQ organs. Organs also seem to drop a lot faster in groups, if you're interested in a Aern manaburn I'd be up for it as brd or blm, I could use a pile of Aern Organs myself.

I need both types of Aerns (NQ/HQ) as well. One night I tried soloing the ones inside (VT), and did pretty well for myself. Unfortunately I died a few times both to the WHM mob type, which was resistant to sleep, bind, and of course my nukes (I'm pretty sure it had shell on).

As for the drop rate, I only got about 2 organs out of 10 mobs, so I'd consider that pretty slow.

Send me a /tell and we can go whenever I'm free.
 
I got my snow gorget which involved 10 aern organs. It took me about 3 months of duoing/trioing the low tier to get them. I found the tier aerns by the limbus zones drop tons, tons more. So what I ended up doing it trying to get a party of 6 to go skill up or WS points in that area. That netted me the best results, we ended up getting 6 aern organs in an hr. Now I am working on a Dark Obi, yet I cant gather up the energy to farm those aern organs by myself or duo quite yet.

EDIT: er...i just realized it was 5 aern and 10 shark ones. I got them mixed up...

2 Yovra

What I still need...
12 Aern [5 Medium Priority, 7 Low Priority]
10 Phuabo [Medium Priority]
2 Yovra [Low Priority]


If anyone wants to do some farming tonight around 9-10pm PST and tomorrow around the same time I will be solo'ing Aerns probably.

I'm there frequently meriting solo. If you spot me there just send a /t, and you can leech a few organs. I have stacks upon stacks of aern's, and nothing to do with them. :/
 
took me 1 week to get all the organs that i need for my snow gorget and dark obi

its not that hard if you got a ls that do sea jailer/sea farming all the time
 
to give you an average drop rate, I believe I'm 7/80 or so, but then again my luck is always awful.

I feel ya. I once went 0/51 on hpemde organs. Went to sleep that night pissed off.

And I hear aern's are even worse. D:

Sea organs are all just a shitty time though. It's the price you pay to get free leet gear. As a blm, the effort was well worth the reward. Not sure how much those gorgets help, but I wear the earth one on my bst anyway just because I earned it.

Drops are shitty though. I feel for ya. Keep at it. I'm with ya. I was farming hpemde organs again last night. After about 40 minutes I came out with 2 HQ's and 0 NQ's. :(

Edit: Also, I've seen people selling HQ organs in batallia downs. Do people actually buy them?
 
I'd buy the HQ Aern's. They are really rare. On another happier note I got my first one yesterday soloing!

8000 exp done in 2 days killing om'hpemdes. All DC-T.

Whatever deity created Al'teiu (sp? did i get it right?) didn't mess around. Apparently each and every hpemde I've been killing is the absolute cream of the crop. What in the world is up with all the HQ's! I think that probably makes me about 1/85 or so on friggin trailer trash hpemde organs... And I need 2 more.

And I just got raped by chuck norris in a hpemde costume and had to homeport. Definitely earning this obi... Screw you SE.
