Hey All!!!

I am one of those people who DO believe giving is better than recieving and all (the only thing I like REALLY like about Christmas is seeing Josh open the gifts I picked out for him :)) Soooo - this is a 2 part question.

#1.) What was your fav. Present to give this year?

#2.) What was the fav. one that you received?

Jen's Answers: #1.) One of the smaller gifts I got Josh was a Thundercats shirt :) He loved it...and my dad wanted an 8 ft. blow up statue of the Abominable Snowman (from the old Rudolph Christmas special) - yes...my parents ARE those kind of people who put up enough lights and decoration in their yard, that it is like St. Nick vomited all over their house...anyway - he loved it so much...and even though it kept blowing over (it comes with stakes to push into the ground, but the ground was frozen) he kept running out to put it back up - atleast 50 times. LOL It was like a mantra...the Abominable Snowman was the king of Christmas in my Dad's mind :) and his home was their front yard.

#2.) My parents got Josh and myself a camcorder - since we are going to Hawaii in February....and one of the smaller gifts that Josh got me was the 4 disc RETURN OF THE KING. <3 He has gotten me the LOTR sets each Christmas...and the most fun after opening gifts is cuddling on the couch with hot coco and watching the extended versions. /sigh. We are planning a weekend in the future to watch all 3 extended's in a row. :) 12 hours of goodness. <3

Sooooo - what are yours???

#1) I gave my girlfriend the Evenstar Pendant from LOTR, because she had asked for it a year or so ago, and I didn't have the money to buy it for her then. I still don't have the money now... but I figured it was high time I bought it for her. :D The best part was seeing the look on her face when she popped open the outer box and saw Lord of the Rings on the case inside. (Kind of like :? >> )^^ I know she'll never wear it  ... but it was worth it to see her face, and then get my "present".

#2) Hmmm... favorite present? This year wasn't a year with any large offerings, so I'll have to think. It would have to be either my Robin Williams: Live on Broadway DVD, because that is some funny shit! Or... my copy of DDR Extreme^^ Because I've been getting lazy at college, so I need something to keep me from sitting on my ass 24/7. Plus my Konamix is getting a bit old.. ><

Alright, that's my favorites.... next?

#1- iPod to husband. He had surprise face  for the rest of the night. :D :D

#2 - The Big Lebowski. Heeehehehehe.

I don't give gifts to a lot of people (my family lives in South America and my husband's is small). Each year my inlaws explode on us with the gifts, which is kind of disturbing. This year though, they decided to do one of those things where you "sponsor" a family and buy gifts for them. So woohoo, go Christmas!

("We believe in nothing!")

#1) I saved up my allowance since around October and was able to buy my mom this nice necklace from Kay Jewelers (I wasn't sure what jewelry store is "good" so I just hoped a mainstream jewelry manufacturer would suffice  ) It was a shiny gold chain with a small diamond for the center, very nice I think.

#2) I got quite a few presents this year, but my overall favorite was this extremely nice office leather chair. Since the dawn of time I have been using this old, wooden, uncomfortable, chair. I have always expressed my discomfort with it, but low and behold I am now sitting in an extremely comfortable leather chair!

On a side note, my mom just got me cookie monster slippers (just for
'shits and giggles") because I was obsessed with cookie monster when I was a baby through my toddler years.

1) I got my Boyfriend a black knight t-shirt and he loved it!He knows almost everything by monty python by heart and he was the black knight for halloween
2) Its a tie:My Brother got me a chinese broadsword for my room and my parents got me tickets to see spamelot, sadly enough, without my boyfriend :(

#1 Got my mom that little 5 game in a joy stick box thing and now i have no tv.... DAMN IT! But fun to see her playing a game  . I was broke and wanted to get her one since i knew she liked miss pac man but god i should of known....

#2 Ive got to say MGS 3 because my dad amazingly plays it and likes it and so do I.

#1.) I was super low on cash this year, so I gave/sent everybody I know cookies. It was very satisfying to have them all tell me how much they loved the cookies, and ask for the recipe.

#2.) My favorite gift, was really a gift I got for myself (yeah, I suck, but my whole family knows better, and just gives me cash for christmas). I got a Poem book by my favorite singer. Kyo, from the Japanese band Dir en grey. It's beautiful and perfect and full of adorable pictures of him <3.

1. Anti-yankees T-shirt that I got my brother.

2. My new, oddly sized trumpet mouthpiece, and knowing that I'm talented enough to play on it. *Gives my ego something to stunt its growth*

Oh and welcome back Jen :)

Lol. Stupid stuck up trumpet players.... just kiddin, had to deal with a few during jazz band. =P

Hmm...

1. That's hard...either the Barbie Guitar I paid quadruple the worth for on Ebay for my lil girl...the down comforter I bought my boy toy..OR the Chanel make-up I got my sister. I went a little overboard for her, she's just a college student, but damn it was fun watching her open that box.

2. The cute little kelly green sweater from my sister - because it's a medium..and is even a little roomy :D

1) Favorite I gave would be the diamond earrings I gave my mother. About a year ago she let it slip that she had lost her old pair and just couldn't justify buying another set. I was more than glad to replace them for her.

2) Favorite I recieved would be a small little ring my mother gave me. It is a sad/happy gift. My mom has been fighting cancer for going on 3 years and we are at the end of options, when it comes to treatments that might work (hoping this batch of chemo does something). So she is feeling her mortality and wanted to give me a "keepsake". So while it is a sad reminder of reality it also holds great sentimental value that will be with me always. Thus sad/happy...

 wow.....that....makes....me feel....shallow....and puts things.....in perspective.

Thanks, I needed that.

1. Not sure gave too many. Leather shoes for my father, a nice chrstmas clock for my mother, a software which costed more than what I gave to my parents to my brother (3 years younger). All in all I spent all my bonus in presents.

2. Received none so far, was not expecting anything in return. In any case, I wouldn't want to be a father anytime soon that for sure.

1. My fave gift I got this year was a Nightmare Before Christmas snowglobe. My mom used to get so mad at the fact that she bought toys for me eventhough I was in my 20's but now I think she's starting to enjoy it. It was a huge suprise for me and I love my mom for doing stuff that's unexpected like this. <3 My mom :D

2. I didn't have a whole lot of cash this year for christmas, things were just a little tighter than normal. When I used to live at home my mom absolutely loved going down into the basement and listening to my music with me, yet she never had any of her own. So this year I made her as many mix CDs as I possibly could. Classical mixes, rock mixes, beat mixes...everything under the sun. She's totally in love with it and I guess hasn't stopped listening to them. I got like, material goods for others but I think my mom appreciated this gift more than anyone else I gave stuff too.

I like mixed cd's that friends make me, more than most of my regular cd's. What a great gift! :) I need to start making more cd's for friends - I used to dish 'em out all the time...DAMN FFXI AND IT'S TIME SUCKAGE
