Favorite Vocalist/singer?

Mike Patton, of numerous bands. He makes Maynard sound like a 1k tone.

Sam Beam, stage name Iron and Wine.

Mark Kozelek, of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters.

Ayal Naor, of 27.

Does he sing metal? No?

Yeahhhh........
Actually he did do an album with The Dillinger Escape Plan, which is phenomenal. Plus you could probably call Fantomas and Tomahawk metal, and those are two of his more well-known bands. So yes.

Amy Lee, since it's just her and some replacements... The band is no more thanks to her personality. Voice is still good though.

Sarah McLaughlin.

That one guy from Kamelot.

Utada Hikaru.

Oh, and me. I'm awesome.

Oh, you really are gay!

Post some links to songs and I'll give him a listen.

I couldn't find a full track that wasn't a video, so here's When Good Dogs Do Bad Things by DEP, off the only album Patton did with them.

Although I have the feeling my definition of metal is a lot looser than yours. When I saw DEP, they did this song, but their current singer broke on the high squeals near the end. It just wasn't the same.

This video is fucking wierd...

Well that was ok. I found some of those other two bands you mentioned and some it sounded kinda metal...some of it sounded really wierd, those Fantomas songs I listened to were pretty trippy. I kinda liked some of Fantomas but I didn't really like Tomahawk, and I can't really see how you could even compare any of it to Maynard. In Fantomas there were hardly any vocals, and in the other two bands it all just sounds like alot of noise to me.

He does do lots of scat and unintelligible noises. Fantomas has Dave Lombardo from Slayer on drums, but I tend to listen to more Tomahawk than Fantomas. Their latest album is heavily influenced by Native American tribal songs; very interesting but definitely not for everybody.

I actually like alot of tribal indian music. Last year, a few months after 10,000 Days came out, I was listening to Lipan Conjuring (some old Indian song) and it hit me - Indians were probably the first people to scream in their songs. So I started listening to some Indian music and some of it is actually really passionate, so much so that they do let out some lyrics in a scream here and there. I think it's cool that they were doin that before it was cool.

Hmm, I thought it was the whole thing. My bad. lastfm doesn't even have the album on their page...
Here's a silly youtube songwithastaticpictureinthebackground, which is for some reason a poster for Dark Knight.
