At that time, through the Jeuno Auction House, Blacktailcat sold a scroll of Erase to Shuster.

For 50k.

50 freakin' k in gil!

For someone who's been mining and crafting my heart out for the past 2 and a half weeks to earn the 420k+ that Erase scroll (and I'm only halfway there now) I just have to say that is EXTREMELY unfair. This scroll literally stands between me any continued involvement in FFXI. And he gets it on a fluke of probability.

I'd better not hear him saying later on how "easy" this scroll is to get, that guy was lucky. Very lucky. I just hope Shuster is a good white mage in the end, no use in wasting a good scroll of Erase...

*gets back to mining*

so, um, why didnt you try bidding lowball at the ah whenever you passed by?
happens more than you'd think, people putting some pricey item up for 1 gil or far lower than going rate to sell faster.
i seriously doubt the seller expected only 50k in their mailbox the following morning, but they took a gamble and lost.....
the buyer took one (at no cost to themselves) and won.
i hardly see the basis for your argument here.

I got a Hauby+1 for 1 gil...

Ok I kid >.> I wish I did XD

every day i go the AH and throw every cent i have at a Scp harness. Never works tho ; ;

All those people you see standing around the AH are there for a reason. A lot of people make money playing the AH like the stock market, looking for low ball prices. It happens pretty often. It is never a waste of time to hit an item you want with a low ball price. Saving 400k is well worth the minute it takes.

Tsumaru is indeed guilty of this. I bought tons of Seer's Tunics from Jeuno and Sold them at Windy and Sandy. Not the same, but I do look for lower prices.

i bet you anything the seller meant to sell it for 500k and accidently sold it for 50k...i've noticed a few times that there have been histories where the cheap prices was similiar to the goine rate...minus the last zero. Sucks to be them hehe.

what about when someone meant to pay 12k and accedentally paid 120k for some +1 pies.... ; ; I did that

I meant to buy a stack of Sole Sushi, instead I bid the stack price for a single serving... 27K!!! A single costs 2k.

Reminds me of the time last year when a Rabbit Charm sold for 1 gil. It was funny because I was levelling thf up a lot at the time and I tried bidding 1 gil on it every single day except the day that it sold (I was out with friends that day). I died a little inside when I got home and saw that.

I say kudos for him, the seller gambled and lost. Do I wish I was him? Oh my god yes, but I am not angry at him, just at my lack of luck.

Not that the amount is as big as 500k, but I did put 80k rings up for 8k on accident... /cry  Someone bought them within seconds...I couldn't even check my sales status to make sure all prices were right!

It happens....I always try to get big priced items for less too...it happens...some people try their luck at theirs selling first and instead of getting the 50k they put it up for they get 500k.

Is that what Erase is up to now? Thank gawd I bought it when it was only 300k...and that was a while ago! :?

Wow, whoever bought it is an ass, people make mistakes, and if I get something for a low price that seems like it could have been a viable mistake then I'll give item or money back. If someone bids 100k and buys my 10k item I'll give them the 90k back. I'll consider myself lucky and not an asshole when I give someone their money back and they give me 1mil or something. I play this game for fun, and I refuse to have it at the expense of others.

Morari would know this, but I managed to buy a bloodbead amulet for 1 gil...then sold it back to someone in the LS for 47000 (he overbid). Guy let me keep the gil too cause it was "his mistake" Heh, it's ok Morari, I'm sure we'll BCNM you the thing soon enough.

Heh, it's ok Morari, I'm sure we'll BCNM you the thing soon enough.

As much as I'd like to hope, I don't think it's likely. For one, Erase seems to hate this LS. How many BCNMs have we done? And it hasn't dropped for us at all...

And secondly, Rappa sold off his level 40 gear already. So we'd have to find a replacement for him too.
