And NPC is about once a day eh? Not bad I guess

Play your cards right and he/she could be out with you at all times. Just don't let them die early.

my npc lasted for about 30 mins...if not exactly 30 mins. they are on a time limit im almost 100% sure

SE said they only leave if player:
-temporarily logs out to PlayOnline
-logs out
-enters a different area
-is KO’d
-All NPCs in a party will leave if the party attempts to increase its total number of players and NPCs to seven.

Also mentioned clicking it will make it leave

Btw, NPC starts at lvl 30. It didnt tell me her job but it said her combat type was "Shield" I'm guessing tank?

well explain how my npc left when i didnt leave zone click them die log out let it die had only myself in the party? its either a set time or ammount of exp. fuck what it says

I think their armor changes reflect how much damage they take over time.

I took mine out to get experience in Xarcabard while I plowed through lost souls, so she only took damage from Area attacks.

I checked on her back in Bastok after she got exhausted, and she was wearring Hume Female Starting RSE, but with Lizard Gloves.

While taking her out to Xarcabard, she used Red Lotus Blade once.

Also, a really good thing about these NPCs.

They don't contract Aggro
During my romp through Xarcabard, she never had something go for her. Sight, Sound, or low HP(A Stonega II dropped her to 2/3 HP.) So I'd assume Magic using ones won't get aggro from Arcana either.

Also, for what it's worth, you can open up the trade window with them. Wether or not that actually means something, I don't know. When I did it, I didn't have anything that they could actually use on me. Will try to give them a Gladius or something tomorrow.

From the two times i've went out with Nanako (low level in sarta and Tahrongi) my theory is that they can stay for 15 battles.

Both times she left after 15 battles, which accounts for the "about 1000xp" and "about 20-30 minutes" most people are reporting.

If anybody can check this, it would be interesting to have more evidence for or against this theory.

When I get my NPC, I'll summon her while I go fishing and start up a watch timer. If your theory's right, she won't leave at all.

Also, here's a thought: maybe your NPC will stay longer after he/she levels up?

Time limit on npcs is supposdly their lvl x 1.5, so 45 mins or until you do 15 battles (which might be lvl divided by 2).

Last 30 mins for me, and its lvl 30. And I did way more than 15 battles

Also, as I had previously guessed. NPCs do not have specific jobs, rather combat styles. After calling mine out twice, I went to meet her at the rendevouz point. I found a new option talking to herl; I could choose her combat style. My NPC is now a healer ^^ I'll find out tomorrow how good of a healer she is.

Oh and btw my choices were Shield(tank), Attacker, and Healer.

Also my NPC changed her boots and pants. Can't really tell which ones but they changed ^^

From reading a bst's account of lvling with the npc for 30 mins, it cast 3 protects, 2 shells, 3 stoneskins, 2 aquas, 3 blinks, and threw cure 3s on him every time he got down to 1/2-2/3 hp, which happened about 13-14 times. So sounds like a decent healer.

All right! Can't wait for my very own personal PL 30 mins a day! :D

unfortunately, I think that what ever your level is, is the NPC's level if your level is lower than your NPC's. Play a level 1 character, get a level 1 version of your NPC.

the earring used to summon/signal your NPC is lvl 5...

Also, where are the Rendevuoz (sp?) Points?

This may be a retarded question, but I cannot get my NPC slave to some out. I keep placing the earring on, and going into Item to "use" it when it turns blue - and I keep getting "cannot use item in this area" - I checked a few different areas - plz help! ><

Someone said it can only be done outdoors and not in a dungeon area.

I layed with my NPC today, and that damn mithra stayed for a whooping 20 min. She didn't die, I didn't click on her, she didn't even take any damage! ; ; And it was also more then 15 battles since I could kill them in a couple of hits in Carpenter's Landing.

Well, atleast she used Burning Blade.

PLAYED! I ment PLAYED! ; ;

Sure you meant played...
I'm not going to carpenter's landing any more. I either have the most lazy NPC on the server, or I hit a quota way to fast too be comfortable with. 6 minutes...wth

Can only be in outdoor areas. No dungeons or towns

I took mine out today to see if fighting something that gave XP to a 74 would do anything nifty to him. I took Ehgo up to the top of Uggalepih and fought that sun-something bisqueberry.

He provoked at the start of the fight which outhated my two dagger swings (had my racc gear on, which was mistake number...7 in this ill-thought plan), Bisqueberry hits him for 356 and then 290, and Ehgo dies a horrible death.

I head back to the rendezvous point disgusted with how thoughtless I'd been, but he offered to change his jobs immediately--basically with no 2nd experience gained. Some features appear to be unlockable just by the number of times summoned.
