'Fess Up - Who Won Something in the Mog Bonanza?

and a rank 3. Got trotters so i can sell my Striders for ~4mil, dont play any jobs that use anything else decent for that rank.
 
Shadow Lord statue on Kyrie. Fafnir statue and Khroma Ore on Areuhat, my mule. This was my first time getting a non-rank 5 prize, at least. And the Khroma Ore more than pays for the 20 marbles. :)
 
I can't check until I get home... internet here is not stable enough for FFXI. I'm really hoping for a rank 3 though. Good to see some folks got it.

In Bonanzas past, I would go in together with my brother and wife and share the winnings at the end. It was cool because between the 3 of us we had 10 characters so we were guaranteed a 4th prize if we chose our numbers properly. This year I wanted try the same idea but with my Linkshell instead. Soooo, I organized a collective and we bought 360 marbles on 36 characters and won:

37 x 5th Prizes

4 x 4th Prizes

We needed three more characters to join in order to have received a 3rd Prize. This was not all that spectacular, but the 4th prizes paid for all the marbles plus some extra pocket change for everyone who participated. It was exactly what statistics said it was going to be… 360 chances at winning big with a guaranteed, albeit small, profit.

Better luck next year. ;)

That's an awesome idea. I only need a hundred-thousand characters to win the big money, though!

A hundred-thousand MARBLES, only ten-thousand CHARACTERS ;P

And as a note, that would be 200,000,000 to to win 1 rank 1, 10 rank 10's, etc

This is true, but since the cost of marbles is paid for easily by the 1000 x 4th prizes, it means you get your 100 x 3rd prizes, 10 x 2nd prizes and 1st prize for free. But since Ninurta's Sash seems to be going for a paltry 150~170mil it hardly seems worth it ^^ Anyway, I never intended to organize every character on an entire server ^^ Just wanted to give people in my shell a way to play the game and guarantee success for everyone with a stab at the big money. If "winning big" means Rank 1, 2, 3, then you would have a 1.11% chance on your own. With the group, we brought the odds up to ~40%.

I think this is exactly the opposite principal that insurance companies use where: the marbles are the "risk" for each individual; the equally divided payout at the end is the premium that everyone pays for coverage ... and "winning big" is actually a catastrophic car wreck with millions in property damage and medical bills. <.<

But I digress. lol Anyway, it was FUN!!!

I got a Rank 5 on both my main & my mule character =/. gogo Shadow Lord Statues. At least its better then the last Mog Bonanza when i spent 40k and got nothing at all in return *shrugs*
 
1 Rank 5 on my main and 1 Rank 4, 1 Rank 5 on a mule. I'm thinking Fafnir and Shadow Lord stautes lol
