Ok Ok Everyone in town is going crazy, all i need to know is how to get my hands on some of the rare items available during the festival, (Lantern, Staff, Pumpkin Head) and so forth :D

a word of advice... everyone is going crazy and buying expensive items like bubble chocolates and pies but you can do the quest with cheap items. I've been doing it with pineapples from kazham. I pay about 50g each for them. If anyone knows of another cheaper item that you can use post it here please :)

observations

After watching people run around and spend rediculuse sums of gil (I was selling gob. Choclate in bastok made a fortune, sry for the shouts) I have noticed a few things. Mainly you need to trade a variety of items to NPCs and to go with the cheapest items that NPCs sell. Fruit look quite promising.

SHHHHHHHH! I made 60k on chocolate! Don't tell people to buy cheap stuff! Let them buy from meeee! Momma needs Astral Rings and Erase and /em dissolves into a list of all the high priced items she needs.

Gobbie choclate

With gobbie choclate (bought for 300 in Jeuno sold for 800 in Bastok) I have ended up making about 100k from this quest. Most of which went to pay bacl some loans and what not.

lol so.... i just trade food to get items?
because i trade grapes, and all that happens is.. well i turn in to some form of monster

suposedly its random. But i think that better items have a better chance of being the right one.

I handed in one pumpkin pie and got my head thing, but my mules have yet to get it useing kaz pineapples

Trick Staff 2

I got the Trick Staff II by trading a Saruta Orange. The npc told me to equip it and walk around and something interesting would happen. Guess what happened..............................................my game locked up. Nice trick.

So far I got the following with these food items:

Goblin Choclate - Trick Staff
Goblin Choclate - Pumpkin Head
Sab. Orange - Treat Staff

with sandy grapes only i have gotten the pumpkin head II, teh trick staff, and the "xxx" helm II. i cant remember the name . didnt actually get that item because my inventory was full, so phooey

I got the trick staff and the pumpkin head (not horror head.. :( )

I ended up trading apple pies and pineapples. I know Sabia got both the pumpkin head and horror head, but no trick staff.

Does anyone know how the enchantment on the Trick Staff II works?

Is there any other items other than these items that people know of?

I got my Trick Staff and Pumpkin Head on conescutive turns in North San d'Oria, trading Melon Pies (after a stack of Derfland Pears) to the Trick Ghast and Trick Shade. Now I'm running around with those and my yukata from summerfest ^^.

Oh, this explains a thing or two.

I logged in last night outside bone guild in Windy woods and saw a Bandersnatch siting next to me. WTF! I freaked out and qued my Perfect Dodge+Flee escape macro and ran to the Mog house and logged.

Trick Staff: O
Trick Staff II: O
Treat Staff: O
Treat Staff II: O
Pumpkin Head II: O
Horror Head II: O

I'll stop there. I don't really care for the pumpkin heads. I just wanted one since it looks cool. I really wanted the II staves though, especially Treat Staff II.

I used mostly grapes only (all but one item was from grapes). I would try to go to all of the costumed mobs and I would also zone after each find.

Taruwaru, what are the stats for each of those items?

The real question I want answered is, what ones are better the event specific mobs like the Trick Ghast or the Costumed NPCs as I keep getting stepped on when I try and chase the event mobs. If its even money then I wanna deal with the costumed mithra outside the woods mog house.
