Anyone else here love FF Tactics? It's by far my favorite in the entire series because of the scope of the storyline and the customization. It's the only PS1 or PS2 game I still own. I was playing around with it the other day during maintenance and I had what I thought was an interesting idea...

I was thinking that SE could add a playable, online version of FFT where you could play against other people. I know that FFXI borrows heavily from FFT, but FFT is obviously a more strategic game. I wouldn't mind paying an extra $1/month to have access to a game like this instead of Tetra Master. I think it would also be a good way to kill the time during FFXI server maitenance. It would be kind of like playing chess, but with a Final Fantasy twist. I know this part would be impossible, but fun to think about...It would be really nice if you could somehow import your save data from a memory card into the game so that all the hard work and hours you put into acquire job skills would pay off in the online version. Hell, the biggest reason why I still play is because I am trying to take every single character through every single job class and unlock every single job ability. Tedious? Definitely. But talk about replay value...I've been playing since 1998, on the SAME data file!

I love FFT. I paid $65 for it on eBay a few months before it was rereleased as a budget title. :(

The storyline wasn't as deep, but Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was pretty good, too. I'm a sucker for the "tactics" style games. Knights of Lodis and FFTA got a lot of playtime in my machine. I'd like to try Onimusha Tactics, but I hear it's not as good.

I keep hoping someone will do a tactics game on one of the new handhelds and enable it for the wireless play over the internet.

I'd pay an extra $1 a month to play through Playonline, though.

Mmmm FF TActics... Sub Calculator (Blue Mage) Height Lv2 Holy :All Targets myyyyyyyyyy favorite move lmao

FFT, where a DRG subbing MNK could survive just about anything and kill just about anything in no time :P

A FFT MMO would be the best ^^

If you liked the strategic battle play of FFT, you might wanna give Dofus a try. Its similar, but you only control ur character while other players constitute the rest of ur party. Its rather inexpensive to sign up and when I beta'd it was fun, although very hard in the beginning.

Anything using Hamedo could survive just about anything, assuming it goes off :P

But, FF11 Chakra should be like Tactics Chakra :/

Yeah, I think the chakra of FFXI should be more like FFT as well

That would be a pretty sweet idea, Valandil.
FFT was awesome.
More than anything, I loved the characters and the plot.
The battle system was cool, too.
I could roam and roam for hours in that game just doing random fights.

As for importing your savedata...
It's called a DexDrive.
=3

Er... I think you mean FFT borrows heavily from the FF games that preceded it, which, by some strange coincidence, FFXI also borrows heavily from...

Don't put FFT on such a pedestal. God. It was a good game, but you almost make it out to be the Gospel of Final Fantasy here.

It is the gospel of FF.
x3

But...FFXI borrows ideas from the entire series...
Hence, "FINAL FANTASY" in the title...I agree.
:]

I totally agree, nothing has come even close to FFT since it was released. It has more addicting power than even the mighty FF11 itself !

And no evil guy except Sephy comes close to Delita. Bastard King of the World.

I dunno.. as much as I love FFT it might not be too great MMO-wise. I could see most using the same job classes over and over. *shrugs*
