Reason he's not in those is that in Japan they're not Final Fantasy games, they're part of the Saga series. (7th Saga, Saga Frontier, Unlimited Saga, etc.)

Actually 7th Saga was made by Enix America, Inc.
Cool game, btw. Just pretty tough, I've beaten it dozens of times! =)

Oh...yeah, you're right! It's been a long time since I played that game, and I didn't get very far at all...

What I want to know is... Where are Wedge and Biggs? THey been in the intro/begining of a lot of the FF series, and always get killed somehow in relation to the Main character...

for instance... In FF VI while Terra was escorted to Tritoc in the very beginning of the game (While under the power of her slave crown) Tritoc Nuked the duo. In FFVII they were killed when Sector 9 fell off of Migard onto the slums below. I am sure there are other Wedge/Biggs Sightings.

Cid was also the Pilot of the Airship in FFIV btw. After you get to the underground and talk to the dwarves.

I have often wondered if their appearance is some sort of homage to Star Wars. Wedge and Biggs are the names of two of the X-Wing pilots from A New Hope.

Actually, yeah, Square confirmed at some point that it was indeed a homage to Star Wars.

In FFIX, he was the Regent of Lindblum. He was turned into an Oglop by a curse his wife Hilda put on him.

Same goes for Biggs and Wedge in the games. Not sure of their very first appearance (FFII maybe?), but I know they're members of Avalanche in FFVII, two Galbadian soldiers in FFVIII, I don't really remember them in FFIX but I believe they're there, and they're Free Agent Blitzball players in FFX. Oh, and one of them died in the Battle of Yavin, the other had to leave due to damage on his X-Wing.

lmao, i dunno if anyone else caught that, but i think thats fckin funny <_<

and i always like drawing similarities between the FF's. One i like is between Spirits Within and FF:7. they both have the "planet has a life force" deal going on, which was one of those things that kept me awake at night thinking about after i beat FF 7 =P

In the FF1 DoS GBA remake, Cid's introduced to the game in name only. You can read about him in Lufenia (that foreign speaking city). I guess, retroactively, Cid is now in every FF game in the series.

Cid made his debut in earlier FFs than FF7, around FF3/6, 2/4. The reasoning for this, or so I heard was that it was a tribute to someone who used to work on the original FF game or somehow tied into place, by the name of Cid, and died, so they used his name in the FF games afterwards.

Cid, along with being there for advice and what have you, is also in the FF games as the airship pilot or is somehow related to anything that deals with airships in FF, but this may not be true for every single one since FF8 didn't have Cid tied in with airships.

There is a lot of things that may be similar in a FF to other ones, since it's the same creators or some of the same creators, and FF9 definitely shows a lot of FF similarities, but each FF is always different from another one, even though some people like to create theories of another character being a child of previous characters.

All the worlds are different, storylines, etc.

Final Fantasy and connections are vast, so this topic can hold a lot of connections, and a very good FF source full of FF definitions and everything would be FF compendium.
