FFV, What's in your party?

I have been playing it. Nothing to great in terms of changes yet. I have gotten access to the first 10 jobs I think it is. Knight, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage, Monk, Mystic Knight, Red Mage, Summoner, Time Mage, Blue Mage and Berserker. I just got passed the part where the Water Crystal explodes.
Did anyone else notice that when the crystal explodes there's another shard up on a ledge? I was running into all the walls trying to get to it but eventually gave up. I better not have missed some super cool totally awesome new job to unlock.

Glad I picked up the GBA version and restarted. I tried playing PSX version a couple years ago and never really got into it. At Cid's ship trying to reach the engine to save the fire crystal now. The game is obscenely easy so far, but that also might be because Lenna just slaughters everything as a monk. Bartz is black mage with level 3 white magic, Faris is a knight, and Galuf is thief. Haven't touched any other jobs, I'm determined to max these out and not get sidetracked.

Much love for the job system, it reminds me of why I played the hell out of FFX-2.

You get that crystal later on in the game, Mimic job I believe.
Anyways, I uh "haggled" to get my Christmas gifts early...so here I am with my brand new DS lite, FFV advance, and FFIII DS in a week, plus I still have XII, not to mention Children of Mana I'm gonna pick up sometime, and FFXII:RW whoever knows when the hell that'll release, and god forbid, let's not forget FFVI advance. I ask myself, why did I want this early when my brains gonna explode from all this FF goodness?

I have no clue, but now I'm playing V, and imo its much better than the crap PSX version, currently at the wind shrine(bear with me, just started!)
Plus it really makes me stoked for FFVI Advance, whenever that releases, because V advance is just well done compared to IV advance.
Now I just need another DS or GBA, 4 more hands, and I can play XII, III and V at the same time! ><

Yeah, I noticed it up on the ledge and tried getting it. I don't remember FFV too well the last time I played through several years ago, so couldn't remember if there was a trick or not.

Is this game worth it I'm deciding whether to put this to FF12 or this

sorry for derail

If you have to choose between V and XII personally I'd choose XII, but get both anyways :P Even with III DS coming out next week if I had to choose between all 3 I'd still choose XII

FF12 unless your PS2 is held hostage or something. I chose to get FF5 and FF3 since I can use my DS any time I please. Someone's usually watching TV at my house so my poor PS2 tends to collect dust.

I'm playing this game more than I am FFXII lol.

Mystic Knight + Two-Handed + Spellblade (enemy elemental weakness) kicks ass, especially on summons.

Monk is bad as hell too.

I'm so excited to finally pick up FFV GBA. Finally I can enjoy the story! I used to play it as a JP version and I couldn't get much of the storyline. I'm only one hour into the game but it's already reminding me how funny it is.

My objective is to master all jobs lol.

Currently:

(back rows are tabbed)

Bartz: Mystic Knight lv2 + "Two-Handed"
Lenna: Summoner lv0 + "White lv3"

Galuf: Monk lv3 + "Focus"
Faris: Blue Mage lv2 + "Red lv3"

I can cut things down rather fast, and my planned changes include:

Bartz: Mystic Knight + "Two-Handed"
Galuf: Samurai + "Focus"
Lenna: White Mage + "Summon"
Faris: toss-up (I haven't decided yet; I want to try Necromancer and also Beastmaster)

FF5 is turning into FFXI.... I mastered ninja on everyone, dual-wield is too awesome. Nin/rng is obscenely good as well. Mystic knight/ninja, monk/ranger, red mage/time mage (go go healing staff!), and samurai/ninja is what I'm currently using. Blue mage is a great sub as well, Vampire makes healing so easy I feel like I'm cheating.

Did anyone even have trouble with Atomos? He was easy in FF4 Advance but I kept hearing how incredibly difficult he is in this game. I killed him easily on my first try, nobody even came close to being sucked in. What a let down.

Yea, the difficulty of FFV Advance was made easier compared to the PSX version, I remember Atomos being a bitch on that one, but the GBA version was a pushover.
Now back to FFIII >_<

So I never beat the original FFV...I was still in the third world collecting all the weapons >.>

I just got the rom for the gba one...gonna go try it out ;o
