why are most FFXI players so gay about helping people out and anything close to that. they call people noobs when everyone was a noob at one time whether they think it or not.

its lame, as are all of you "ubers" that dont do shit for anyone cause "people didnt help you" which is a joke cause everyone whose played this game knows theyve had help one time or another in this game..

post..please.. talk shit..anything.. this website is fun

ahhh hgagagaga!!

happens in every game

Some people don't help because in the past, they've had to hold the hand of whoever they're helping through a realy long quest. Nothing is more annoying than someone asking for help and not knowing a damn thing about what they need. Other people might just be busy and aren't free to help.

I generally like helping out, but very rarely has answering someone's shout for help in jeuno gone over well, either due to zero preperation or just stupid mistakes made during the whole thing. It's also annoying when I'm busy to get people repeatedly begging me for help or getting pissed off that I won't help them because I'm doing something else.

I think your best bet is to make friends (Shocking, I know, but that's what a lot of this game is built on) and get them to help out occasionally. This game is built around interpersonal relationships, so get people you know to help you out. You can also get help from members of your linkshell.

Oh, and about the noob thing. I was a new player to the game a long time ago, but I never acted liked those that are usually called noobs. I was nice to other players, didn't act like I knew everything or that the Brady's guide was gospel, and I asked some questions to players that were more experienced than I was. I was a newb(someone new to something) but I was never a noob(a fucking idiot who thinks they know all) and that distinction has been made several times on these boards.

IDK there are just alot of people out there that just dont wanna help and they have that rigth.. they can play the game like they want.. i personally help who ever i can. im always helping someone with 2-3 and their kazham. /praise Bajaratt

Anyway, I've played sicne the game first came out in NA. And yes, everyone got help. But I don't think any of us got our hands held throughout the entire thing, like many players do now. When they ask for help, they don't expect to actualyl help out. They expect you to tell them what to do, where to go, and when to go. And that's why I usually don't help people out when they ask me (when I don't know them that is). You can, as an example, easily get any coffer key you need for your AF with a level 50-60 exp party. You can also get all of your Genkai items with a single lvl 50 party.

I do, however, help out. Friends as an example. And I do help strangers out too. BUT I don't help any stranger out. I level a lot of different jobs, and if someone I party with is a good player, is good at following orders (during many things), and is atleast average when it comes to working with other players, I have (and do) ask people if they need help. I have helped many people complete both AF quests and Genkai's this way.

Reason I do this is because people who meet the above requirements usually come prepared to the things they need help with. They know what to do, where to go, and have talked to all the people they need to talk to. They usually also have prism powders and silent oils if needed. This saves time for everyone, and they get done with whatever they need help with. And yes, I do it all for free, so I don't get anything out of it besides the great feeling you get from helping someone out.

Another reason I tend to not help strangers that don't meet the above requirements is that they usually don't thank you for helping them. It's like they expect you to do it, like it's your duty.

I help people out, but I help myself out even more. I'm obviously not going to do something miserable to myself to help someone I don't know. If I was in a good mood then I'd probably help, but people who expect it need to realize how the world works.

Come to think of it I could use a peacock charm. Wanna help me out and camp one for me?

Yeah I didn't think so.

Heh i went down to help Noyade with the last few years of an Argus camp and provided the TH2 so he went 1/1 on the drop and claim and I haven't heard from him since.

"OMG thanks im posting the pics!"

He never posted a good times thread or the pics etc.

and you have these people who post thank yous for help with fucking genkai 2 while I help this kid get the best melee pc in the game and I get nothing lol... go figure.

exactly what bajarett said goes for me as well.

Some people aren't grateful.

Of course, I can't stand people looking to make a buck off someone in need, but hey, thats to be expected right? we're only human? Heh.

Everytime I shout for help in Jeuno, generally something I just can't get together with friends on and need, I get a /tell "Reward?"

If I wanted to PAY someone to help me, I woulda OFFERED a reward. It just disgusts me mildly that someone looks to profit off of the immediate needs of others. Most of the time I can't afford to pay for help, I pour my gil into proper gear, so that I'm not a gimp.

Isn't having Non Gimp players, a reward in it's own right? =/

I may be wrong, just my personal opinion/thoughts ont he situation.

Right and I definately dont expect a good times thread everytime i help someone but for a fucking peacock charm i expect someone to come over to my house and give me a handjob at the very least.

Shit I served my time down there and provided more claims than he did. Not only that but I made threads and have called him the best NA camper of Argus numerous times on forums.

Also there was something in it for Tiya, there was nothing in it for me when I went and helped him.

Any further questions? Didn't think so.

Lol 12-14M isn't "helping out". Helping you earn that 12-14M maybe, but I sure as shit wouldn't give it to you if it dropped.

Helping out is grabbing a few friends and helping with them damn garbage shitadel doors and taking aggro off the lowbe.

OK it might sound rude or err get some heat. But i've noticed that people playing on melee classes are 500 times more helpful than the ones who have mage as their main jobs.I mean 4 out of 9 blms won't warp you even if they aren't busy (bow the 5 who do) and then whms got the attitude of the whole world.Even if you get one they'll gtg in 10 mins or something. But on the other hand you get a war to help and the fool would probably be helping for hours.
I mean even if i'm getting killer chains in exp party i still let the blm in party d2 someone but the other day i was in onzozo n this blm tells me "Its annoying to d2 cuz it wastes mp" damn...i died on my way out lost 1hr worth of exp n made me promise my self not to help a mage unless i know he helps other or a guildie.
