Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried or had any luck with running FFXI under Linux using Cedega or anything similar. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but Transgaming's site doesn't have any ratings for how FFXI is working with it.

Anyone out there that have successfully been able to make this work?

Is Cedega that software that allows OS like Unix to run on PC's ?

FFXI is made for Windows, but i'm sure somewhere in nerd world they have things that emulate Window's components to run games made for Windows, on other Operating systems.

heh... well that was close....
Cedega IS an emulator for running windows games under Linux. Unforutnately, Transgaming hasnt put much effort into ffxi or POL yet, so it doesn't seem like to even install the viewer.

Reason for this thread was in hopes that somewhere out in 'nerd world' someone has managed to hack cedega enuogh to get pol and ffxi to work well with it... I'm sure someone here has tried, maybe someone has succeeded ;)

nah, i just wanna play ffxi at work on my laptop, which is linux, and i dont want to install windows on it cause windoze is too leet for me :P
