FFXI Developer Interview

Lower dynamis costs... That means lower coin prices, and everyone and their mother-in-law can have a relic weapon! Yaaaaay. .... Oh wait, what?

This. The fact that they shit on the heads of everyone who had their accounts jacked. SE's just been managing to piss me off on a daily basis. They're answers to everything are the same, giving out no information, it's just frustrating. I've been having technical problems and cannot logon till next month, and i don't seem to be missing it that much, especially since the last expansion, imo, sucked. I think they just ran out of ideas and decided to do the same thing we already have - but in the past! Wow, real creative.

:( I'm sorry. I really enjoy the game a ton still, and haven't even scratched the surface of things to do. I've been fortunate that any of the problems I've had with the game have been things on my end, and they only glitches I've found have been kind of funny, not at all detrimental to game play.

I'm really enjoying the new expansion. The stories are interesting, the new mobs are spiff, and Besieged/Garrison are two of my favorite things so far, so Campaign is just a blast.

The innaction on stolen accounts is extremely frustrating, and without a doubt falls under the "Epic Fail" category. They seem to be taking steps, but I agree that it really seems to be too little and too late.

All I know is I am sick of their responses about AV. AV has been around for multiple years and nobody can beat it. Tell us how to beat the damn thing; obviously your video was a piece a shit and not helpful at all.

I were hoping they'd answer to the part where Bercus asked;
We thank you for holding your promise to release an Absolute Virtue video. Players tested and analyzed the developers’ videos, but they couldn’t find any real weaknesses. After careful inspection and comparison of the videos in different languages, we noticed that a few people used their two-hour abilities multiple times within two hours.

Because if there is no way to reset your 2-hours, SE cheated, and the video means nothing ~.~

Maybe they used a Corsair when the camera wasn't rolling? I can't think of anything else.

I wonder with this new update to Einherjar that Einherjar will be the way to upgrade the new relic items such as either drops from Einherjar or items that are purchased with ampoules for upgrades.

We understand that there are a number of problems with the aforementioned HNMs. Although the benefits may no longer be relative to the 3-day-spawn time, the dropped items are still powerful and we think it is too early to make changes or adjustments making these are available to everyone.

lol

.

I wonder if SE is going to understand why people ditch this game for Age of Conan or w/e else MMO comes out in the near future.

"hmmm, everyone is leaving the game, what should we do? Give them what they want or just give them more vague answers with little to no results?"

As to the ways to check the effect of different food items, we would like to find a solution. This is not easy: there are a large number of foods, and their effects have already been implemented.

I'm going to have to call pure laziness on this one. EQ up and one day made every spell in the game have a description of exactly what it does. Damage, any effects, how strong of an effect, and even what the maximum level mob it can be used on.

There were surely more spells in that game when they did that than there are foods in this.

After reading this, was I the only one who thought:

SquareEnix's evasion skill raises 0.4 points.

They should seriously be at cap by now.

They'd be idiots if they put Balrahn items in Einherjar. Turning something thats obtained through a casual experience and a single group effort into the complete fucking opposite is an easy way to increase hatred against you.

Keep it like Dynamis and Relics. Get the base item from Dynamis, require further Dynamis items to obtain. Make the items come from NM dropped chests, so they aren't just ignored when you don't need to fight them. Or better yet, have them come from the Leaders on Eliminate enemy leader floors that aren't related to the 20s.

I don't think they will make upgrade items come from einherjar, cause it'd look odd to force people to do 2 endgame stuff for the weapons. I seriously hope they increase the drop rate on abjurations, and change the feather system.

Right now the main issue to einherjar is to get 36 members. If you get max numbers and your members are decent you can win relatively easilly. Wing Is can be beaten relatively easily with 20, Wing IIs with 25, and wing III with 36. But the abysmal drop rate on abjuration make people leave shells very fast....I think we got only 7-8 in 9 months (not counting odin).

Didn't they say in that recent interview that they would be increasing the drop rates from einherjar or add like ampoules for killing the mobs but wiping to the boss and such?

They out classed Ridill already; maybe you missed the memo but it was the two handed buff.

Answer:
It would be an awkward situation if monsters in the present world were to become extinct as the result of events in the past. However, this may not necessarily be negative.

If the players do ‘something’ in the past world, there could be positive consequences in the present one. For example, if the players were to save a Pixie in the past, Pixies would exist in the present. For the time being though, there aren’t many cases of this.

In the future, more dynamic features will be added. These will lead to a string of positive changes and consequences, made in the past with effects in the present world.

Apart from the ‘Altana Missions’ and ’Campaign’ currently available, the release of new HNMs, new areas and some new contents are being planned.
Keep posted for any announcements in the future!

I wonder if pixies get spawned in the future if a server collectively releases enough bottled fairies at the spring in Grauberg? They did make a pretty darn big point of mentioning the spring at Fanfest.

I personally don't care about saving the pixies unless they are going to offer me sexual favors, winning bonanza marbles, or at least free alcohol in in the present.

That aside, I agree with Skaw. SE is just too slow and stupid when it comes to adjusting their game. It's all been said before though. People will still buy cigarettes if they don't like the Marlboro man and they'll still play FFXI (for the most part) if they hate the way the dev team implements shit. I really think that they don't care if players go to play other MMOs. In fact, I think they expect it at this point. But they'll still release a chunk-o-patch with lots of hot air behind it every few months to keep the ones that go to other stuff still subscribed.
