Well, I just got through the 2nd (of 3) days in the FFXI Fan Festival.
The festival's in Anaheim, and I'm in the San Fernando Valley, so it's maybe about a 40 minute drive on the freeway... Still... I'm exhausted as hell.
But, thanks to Celvantes, Gregedor, Seikatsu, Creamygoodness, Feature and others who were present, I can now pick up my in-game items from completing the live quest.
I got alot of footage and heard alot of interesting crap first-hand.
I'm going to render and touch up the videos and get them on the net as fast as I can.
My... GOD...
I will be so glad when tomorrow's over... I can put my feet up and rest for a looooooong time. I might just even sleep through Sunday.
With me, trying to pump out my video, and preparing for the Fan Fest, this entire month and a half, I've been on pins and needles!
...
There were ALOT of people at the FanFest this year. Reportedly, alot of people from Perseverance were gonna be there... Didn't see any Perseverance people...
But I did meet alot of Quetzalcoatl people! There had to have been +30 people there. I even bumped into Mooshywooshy, who was Cosplaying as a Scholar this year.
Speaking of my video. Yeah, I saw the Movie Contest. And... Ehhh... Well.
I'll be nice this time, and say, at the very least, I was entertained. The Tarutaru videos were funny. But I'll try my best next year to atleast get my video submitted.
Also, I bought some merchandise... A Baby Chocobo Plush Doll, and an FFXI 5th Anniversary Keychain for a friend... I'mma mail them to her.
And for myself. a pure Silver replica of the Bastokan Ring... It looks just like a replica of the Bastok / Astral / Ether ring. Since they didn't have my finger size (I have big hands) I squeeeeeezed it onto my Pinky finger.
They were supposed to have silver replicas of all 3 national rings. Bastok, San d'Oria and Windurst... However... Somehow, the Windurstian rings didn't make it through American customs when they were being imported through Japan. Sounds alot like "A job for the consortum" (Sandy Tenshodo quest). Smugglin' that contraband, eh?
So yeah. Only Bastok and San d'Oria were available. They were $100. And I KNEW they were gonna sell out this year. So I stood in line for an HOUR and made absolutely SURE I walked away with one!
I'll post a picture of it in a bit... Waiting for these videos to render.
...I want more of you people to show up for Next Year!

Pictures of the ring.

- 4th Picture -
On the 4th pictures, although you can't see it, there's an engraving on the inside of the ring that reads The Republic of Bastok. I'm a Bastokan Elvaan, so it all kinda works out.
- 5ht Picture -
I really apologize for the lens being out of focus in the last four pictures. But it was late, there was limited lighting in my room, and I was (and currently am) very exhausted.
I'll possibly re-take the pictures later.
