Been having some problems with the game when i play, been going on for a couple weeks now and is really starting to get annoying cause i can't see sometimes and miss important things. Its like the game's landscape is going spaztic and shooting out in all different directions. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and/or if anyone knew how to fix it? I’ve updated my drivers and all that jazz but hasn’t helped any and haven’t had any problems with any other games I play.

Hi Kale, I think it looks cool tho ;) woot.

My suggestion would be to have ffxi check it's files to see if any need to be repaired, but i'd assume you would have done that. ;)

Reinstall FFXI!

It's most likely your video card.

Try updating your drivers.

It appears he has them updated in his post. Do you know what video card you have? Also does your video card has a fan? Maybe the fan stopped working on your video card. When you reinstalled the drivers make sure you follow these steps: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=965852

Just to reiterate, your video card is probably on it's last legs, or abnormally warm. Also check that your computer is receiving enough power to function (if it's plugged into an extender with multiple connections try turning off any devices that are also connected) as this could be a problem of your graphics not receiving enough power.

Edit: Try rolling back your drivers by finding previous versions or using the system restore function in windows (a quick google search will show you how to do both of these.)

Yeah, check to see if your fan is working. If it is, stuffs bad, royally. If it isn't, get a replacement and see if that fixes things.

Kale, you're a galka, your video card just realized this and is committing suicide slowly.

But seriously, it looks like your card is probably about to die out, just like others have said before me, my old one did the same thing with Doom 3, had to replace it.

lol, this happens to me whenever certain bows are used for ranged attacks... When they pull em out to shoot, the polygons stretch all over the screen

The Timestream is starting to change! D=

I like this suggestion the most!
but damn i guess i never thought about how old my graphics card is :(, looks like i might need to start looking for a replacement.
I was really hoping it was some kind of POL error or something along those lines...

 now you know why i miss a mob Occasionally during Dynamis

yeah, i had this exact problem along time ago for FF11 and even lolWOW, what i had to do was get a new video card and it fixed it, :P

I had this problem early this year. Turned out to be that the graphics card was dying - hadn't completely died yet so it was pretty much fine for normal computer stuff (anything not involving 3D processing), but any advanced graphics and it basically looked like looking into a smashed mirror. Fragments of the real graphics stretched out bizarrely all over the place - barely possible to see anything.

Got an el cheapo replacement video card and it solved the problems. Of course, being el cheapo, it also couldn't handle weather effects (plain old earth weather was surprisingly one of the worst), avatars, or - oddly - crag telepoints. This summer I got fed up with it and got a better video card. My advice to you is to get the "better video card" in the first place rather than something dirt cheap. Doesn't have to be top of the line, but go for the $150-$200 ballpark rather than the $50 ballpark. :P

heres what happens to me, lol.. Not a big deal, but still..

See the fishing pole Chjahin is using? This happens with other things like bows and crossbows too, sometimes to a larger extent

That issue looks like it has more to do with the fact that what's equipped in the ranged slot is by default a. just under your feet and b. hidden. Every now and then due to lag or equip swaps or something, you see someone do a ranged attack (or fish, or play a bard song, or whatever) using something from below their feet rather than in their hands as usual.
