Like R.O.S.E. Online for example.
Um.. I'm not sure, but.. I think i remember a post about this game sometime ago. It's been in beta for a while, its in Open Beta at the moment, and free too.
I only tried it out because my roomate decided to check it out and it doesnt look half bad, so I gave it a go.
Been playing it a bit lately, esspecially with the updates and maintenance on FFXI. So far its pretty fun. The "click-to-move-everywhere" Diablo-style movement um... can get quite annoying and takes some getting used to. Though I have to say the game is pretty fun, and there are some really cool aspects to it, like for instance the Party Level gauge; It levels up the more your party fights monsters and if your not fighting it slowly lowers, but if you get to 100% all members of the party get instantly healed HP and MP... and that's pretty sweet.
The classes start out very limited, you start out as a "Visitor", then when you hit level 10 you can choose from 4 base classes: Soldier (think Warrior), Muse (think Red Mage, the buff/heal/offensive generic magic user), Hawker (think Thief/Rogue/Monk, can use h2h, daggers, and other such weapons and later levels get stealth abilities and other flashy moves), and lastly Dealer (Think Mercenary/Ranger, they excell in ranged combat, guns/bow/cannon <- *drool* and they aparently get the ability to hire additional merc npcs to help them fight).
Each basic class has 2 more higher classes you can eventaully advance to. Soldier -> Knight and Champ. Muse -> Cleric and Magician. Hawker -> Scout and Raider. Dealer -> Bourgeois and Artisan. Each of those 2 classes specializes in something different than the other (obviously).
The graphics are very cartoonish, though not quite as warped as WoW. It feels very Kingdom Hearts-ish to me. It's quite a vibrantly colorful game though, and really does look quite visually appealing.
There are tons of little things that irk me about it, but all in all, its fun to play, and its a blast to play along with one or both of my roomates together. (we got the other roomate playing it too XD ) ((I have 2 roomates)) And considering its open beta and its free, its definately worth checking out. For more info on it, if you think its a game for you check here R.O.S.E Online. I had a problem getting my registration verification email with Aol mail, quite frankly I never recieved it. Made a Yahoo email account and got the mail no sweat. Some people may have to play with thier spam settings, or check your spam folder if it doesnt appear with your main mail.
And here's me yesterday, I'm a Soldier, and this is the lvl 10 soldier gear, along with my quite pimp axe, I hit lvl 16 yesterday night before I went to bed.
