FFXI Model Viewer help

Yes, I have the same problem when trying to view PCs in the model viewer. In winRAR, every time I extract the files, it comes out as gibberish, even though I have the japanese language pack enabled. It can find the folder, but the actual .dat file is renamed to the gibberish rather than japanese, so it crashes 'cause it cant find the list of files. Could someone who has the model viewer working properly upload the .dats or tell me which names to rename to what?

You really shouldn't have to rename anything.

I don't know if it would still work on PC after the new updates cause i never played FFXI on my PC since.

What i would do if i were you is

- Make sure the system is set to japanese first.

- Erase the modelviewer.

-Create a new Folder

- Extract the model viewer into the new folder

- Compare all the files to the ones in the Final fantasy folder where the model viewer will go

- If there are any duplicates of the files you just extracted in the Final Fantasy Folder, delete them.

- Drag and drop all the contents of the new folder into the Final fantasy folder.

- Start the software.

It is imparitive that you have the Japanese language on when extracting and placing the software and it's files. For Clairity i will mention this... make sure japanese is set from the "Regional languages advanced tab" in the controll pannel.

If you open the Model viewer and you don't see japanese then you do not have Japanese set up. You'll need the windows Installation CD in that matter.. I mention this for clairity
