So I was really bored last night since I got my new cell phone and decided I wanted to play a bit. Phone is pretty awesome. Here's a link:

You actually have an option to use videos as your ringers and they will play in the LCDs when you are receiving calls, etc. Quality is very good. I even stored a movie on the miniSD chip and watched it off the phone for kicks. Anyhow, being an ffxi geek, I wanted to make some game video ringers. I thought it was kind of neat so I thought I'd share it with everyone:
-First, you need a phone that can support .3gp video files. I'm not sure how many are out there (Sprint has the phone I have and the Sanyo 7400 which are capable).
-Record your fraps movie.
-Install the following two programs onto your computer:
-3gp Converterhttp://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp
Once it is installed go to your setup directory and choose the English option in languages and set the output type to 3GPP+AAC General Setting and QCIF Normal quality 15fps Mono.
-Stoik Video Converter http://www.download.com/STOIK-Video...69.html?part=dl-STOIKVide&subj=dl&tag=buttonl
Once installed fo to Edit then edit profiles for AVI for PC medium (320x240, 15fps, Indeo). Under General AVI, select Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 as your video compressor and PCM audio output at 22.050khz, 8bit, Mono.
-Now you need to do some conversions. First, take your fraps movie and use the Record option in Stoik and output the file to a directory you remember. The file that you output for this you use in 3gp Converter to make ready for your phone. So once you have converted the file from Stoik, drag and drop it into the top part of the 3gp Converter and it will automatically do all the work needed to convert the file.
-Now, upload the video file to your phone (via the USB cable included with the 5600 or a data cable obtained for 7400) and enjoy!
For those of you with Sprint phones but no video but want to make some ringtones from the game music files:

You will need the plugin for playing the ffxi .bgw files first for winamp, found here:

My sources were the ffxionline forums and the sprintuser forums along with hours of bored playing around. If you wanna repost this somewhere else please make sure to include all info so people don't get confused. Hope you guys enjoy~
