FFXI on mac

[Juc]

I want to know if you can play ffxi on mac, i've just moved countries and have got a new Imac, i was a previous ffxi player back home on windows and would like to come back to the game. If anybody knows or has any words of wisdom that would help me, i'd be very greatful.

I'm *pretty* sure that there is no "OS X" version. You can use your new iMac and set up Boot Camp (or whatever it's called), install Windows, and then run it on Windows again.

There are/were a couple of people on this forum who were able to get it working in different environments, be it Mac or Linux.

Give it a go.

I use bootcamp to run windows xp on my macbook. I tried using parallels to run ffxi in windows but I couldn't get it to run properly. Windows runs exceptionally well with bootcamp and I haven't had any problems running ffxi. The thing some ppl dont like about bootcamp is that you have to reset the computer to switch between windows and Mac, where with parallels you can switch right on the desktop.

you can split your hardrive on you Mac..... then one part is Mac running Mac OS and the other part you have to install windows and all that PC stuff then you can run FFXI on a mac. You decide the split 30/70, 50/50.... When you split your drive you are either running your computer as a Mac and boot in Mac mode or you boot in PC mode.

I play FFXI on a mac and have no issues at all.
