ffxi on ps3?

[mysticalone]

anybody play it on ps3? any support, or problems? reason i have not played in 6 months is that my 360 is a p.o.s. and is being fixed a 2nd time. i have this sudden urge to experiment with the game again but dont want any hassles. is ps3 hassle free?

shouldn't this go to the PS3 section? and is there a FFXI for PS3? I never knew there was one. I think there's a way to get the FFXI version for PS2 working on it though. But not sure of that either.

Download a new patch via the sony website and you shoudl be able to install the ps2 version on ps3.

yeah it works fine and all. it runs just the same as on ps2 though, i didnt really notice any increase in performance but thats probably because its still just a ps2 game and not a ps3 game designed for the ps3 it self.

Warning: if you're playing on HDTV it will look like ass. Yes, I realize that the PS2 version already looks bad, but it will look worse.

thanks for the replies. i havent had the luxury of affording an hdtv, but i installed the game on my ps3. only difference is you have to download the patch from the ps3 store as mentioned above, and upon install it partitions 10 gigs exclusively for the game. the lovely long download/install times are still hell as always.. started at 7 et and had some to go after leaving for work at midnight.

lol I tought this was an announcement of an enhanced version of FFXI for PS3. The game plays exactly the same on PS3 and you should install it if the PS2 version was all you had. You'll have extended life on FFXI PS3 when your PS2 dies.
