Just wondering if anyone is playing on a PS3 and if you are; what keyboard do you use?! Apparently the Logitech USB PS3 wireless keyboard, and the Logitech bluetooth PS3 wireless keyboard BOTH don't seem to work on FFXI.

Any suggestions anyone? I want to play on my PS3 to be completely wireless but if I can't I might as well just go back to using my PS2

I'm not 100% sure since I'm on 40GB PS3, and FFXI doesn't work on here :nono:, but did you set-up the keyboards, by going to "Accessory" from the XMB bar? Should be a icon that says "bluetooth devices", and from there bluetooth keyboards, and such.

I'm on the 60GB original PS3 and i already installed updated everything and it runs and looks great. Yeah i set up bluetooth keyboard on my accessories, and the keyboard(s) (both USB and Bluetooth) work on my PS3 but when I get into FFXI it wont let me type anything. Bluetooth just doesn't work at all but the USB one *kind of* works. I hit "s" and it goes to /say, but it wont let me type anything out. *Letter* (not ctrl-j,s,t,l,p or anything just the letter) goes to the corresponding CTRL- *letter* but nothing can be typed out. ATM i'm using a regular wired USB keyboard on my PS3 (like how i play on my PS2).

When playing on my PS3 I use a white USB keyboard from a Mac G5. If that works, anything should. lol

that is EXACTLY what i'm doing (but the old iMac keyboard the black one)....it's just so damn SHORT!

Use an extension for USB keyboard, if you were refering to how short the cable is. That's what I have on atm. If you really want a wireless solution, I will ask some friends to see if they have some wireless keyboards working on FFXI+PS3.

That's why I'm asking here, to see what others suggest. Thanks for the suggestion on the ext. cable though

Friend of mine just uses an illuminated PS/2 keyboard with a USB "Y" adaptor for both keyboard and mouse, only using the mouse plug though. Seems to work fine with everything including FFXI. I would just avoid wireless.

your friend uses this on the PS3?! hmm maybe you guys are right to just ditch wireless all together seems like a lost cause for now

What this sounds like to me is the game is set to a short keyboard (like one without a number pad). The option to change it is found in the game menu, you can change between a normal and short keyboard.

Yeah tried that....I've come to the conclusion...FFXI doesn't like wireless keyboards /sigh

I use an X-Gene wireless USB keyboard and it works fine with FFXI. I've never had an issue with any other wired USB keyboards I've tried either.

As stated earlier (kind of), since the PS2 doesn't support Bluetooth accessories, neither does the PS3 when run in PS2 mode (FFXI).
