FFXI Overlay Graphics help

Yall i just got a 360 tuesday and popped the 15 bucks for FFXI for it... WEll its all loaded now BUT the overlay graphics ( Menu, Item Screen, Chatlog and text) are all freakishly oversized. well at least to what im use to on the PC.



Is there any way to make these overlay graphics smaller and more compact so i can see more of the game and less of the gigantic menus?

Believe turning up the resolution will make the windows themselves smaller overall.

would i do that threw the system settings in the dashboard?

I unfortunately have no knowledge of how it works on 360. =/ Sorry...but yeah, you'd likely need to turn up the resolution.

It's in the system menu. However, if you don't have an HDTV, I believe you are screwed.

Yes just like lol said. You need HD to view the windows/text smaller. I have mine at 1080 for 360 and it shows (compared to PS2/PS3).

i hooked my 360 into the HD ports in the back (The Red, yellow, White, Blue, Green, and the other color input i cant remeber) into the back of mmy 37' HDTV Flatscreen TV.

Changed input to Analog HD2

turned 360 on

Entered the dashboard and went to system setting it on 1080i

Log onto FFXI and still see super huge menus


Do i need to change some setting in my tv menu?

what modes can your television display?

480i, 720i, 1080i, 480p, 720p, 1080p?

The analog doesn't sound right... it should be component input.

Same issue

I picked up the 360's version of FFXI (after a two year absence, and missing disks for the PC), and I'm having the EXACT same issue. I'm running the game on a 32" Samsung HDTV, with my XBox360's Dashboard's Visual Settings at 1080i (Widescreen).

Yet, the Overlay Graphics are ENORMOUS (take up 1/4 - 1/2 of the screen). I'm used to small, or at least scaleable UI settings on the PC version via FFXIConfig.

I DID notice that FFXIConfig was installed when I first installed/updated the game when I purchased it, yet can't seem to access it (I know you can't access it from PlayOnline Viewer or from withing FFXI).

I hate the HUGE Overlay Graphics, but can't seem to get them to be any smaller than they are.

But on a side note i never realized how detailed the item Decsription picture was. And i Cut the the lines displayed onscreen from 8 to 6 and that saves a ton of room...



But i want my old display back
