I bought another stick of 512ram yesterday, after I formatted my computer. I get my first party invite since I formatted, it's from a friend so I thought sure!

As we go along, I find whenever the BRD Ballad's and or another Song it LAGS the living fuck out of my computer. So I changed settings, it runs better but now whenever he casted, it would lag as the song proceeds to me, then speed up again when the animation is ending!

This is pissing the fk out of me, and I don't know what to do!

I have turned OFF the AA and AS setting on my Graphic's card, I've downloaded all the current drivers...

Please dear god help me!
 
If you are using an nvidia gforce card with the latest drivers, that is the problem I had. The drivers are designed for games using directx 9, but FFXI still uses early directx 8. Thus the game performans poorly with current drivers on ffxi, but should do well on new games. To alleviate this I use 66.93. Older versions than this get me better performance in ffxi, but ruin my ability to play other games like doom3, Counter Strike source, HL2, etc. So you have to find a happy medium or avoid the flawed gforce line of cards.

Does the problem go away when playing without the old stick or with your old ram? Ram problems usually cause game crashes from corrupted data rather than huge fps drops.
 
Where did you download the lower divx? =o I'm supposing divx.com? I'm having the same problem myself.
 
yeah, i was having the same problem. the new drivers were lagging me to the point that i couldnt move my character if any sort of animation was going off.

i switched back to the 45.23 set and smooth as silk.

If any of you have problems downloading the drivers for some reason, I've got the Windows XP driver that works with this game. Send me a pm with your email and I'll send you the driver.
 
I hope this one works on GeForceFX Go chips.
