Aaaanyone know a decent torrent? >.>

I went to Google and typed in "Video Game Music"... got me to some crazy-ass website called Video Game Archives or something. It's pretty good. Has music for almost everything. They're all MIDI's though, so it's shitty synth music and stuff. But it works. Some of it's damn good.

Meh, was after the OST, and maybe some Black mages torrents too :P

Ima student the most renound people for being skint. :P

A long time ago a friend I met in game, Giju, made me a CD of songs he took straight from the FFXI game files. I am not sure how or what he did, just one day he asked for my address and told me he was going to send me a CD of MP3s from the game music. I will have to dig up the CD. I can even try to get in contact with him if you are interested in finding out what he did. He quit the game so I will have to contact him MSN or by email.

Cheers! :)

The soundtracks are also available for purchase through the iTunes store, if you're so inclined... but since you're asking for a torrent, I'm assuming you're not.

Pretty sure torrents fall under the "absolutely no piracy" policy of QCDN... but look on Boxtorrents.com for Final Fantasy OST... should find a hideously massive torrent of just about every FF soundtrack Square has ever released.

well if you bought the game and have the music files on your PC I guess it's not piracy correct?.

Download this: http://burger.sandwich.net/XIMC.zip

the music files are in:
//SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound\win\music\data (for original version music),
//SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound2\win\music\data (for Rise of Zilart music),
//SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound3\win\music\data (for Chains
of Promathia).

that program will convert the BGW files to MP3s, that way you dont have to go to crappy itunes and download them, if you really wanna support them buy the original CD, I will :P.

You can also add this plugin to winamp: http://burger.sandwich.net/ffxi_winamp_plugin.zip and play the BGW files directly if you don't wanna convert them to MP3s.

I think you can rip the music files right out of the game, it just takes longer. (I don't think they are stored as MP3 though, theres a converter.)

Technically we do own the music. Thats why i didnt offer a Black Mages download :p

I've converted all of the FFXI music to MP3s.. it's insanely large though. I suppose I could gather it all up and make a make a torrent or something if you wanted it very badly.

Welcome to Quetzalcoatl Daily News, the FFXI Quetzalcoatl Server community!

In order to make your stay as enjoyable as possible please review and obey the following simple rules:

- you are encouraged to add your in-game main character name to your signature
- no alternate egos, one account per user (alter ego = ban)
- keep flames to the flameboard, no exceptions!
- no personal reference posts (i.e. clickbank, everwars, stuff like that)
- be courteous
- posts encouraging piracy, directly or indirectly, will not be tolerated
- post count bumping will not be tolerated
- QCDN doesn't support animated signatures or avatars

That's it!
Couldn't be easier really.
Quetzalcoatl Daily News is not a democracy, participating in this community is not a right but a privilege, stick to the above rules and you will have a good time, violate them and you may be asked to leave.

you already own the music, so its not piracy.

I forgot about that, but surely Sculli would have WTFPWND me by now if it was that bad....

i bought the CD's to ff xi, and zilart, a long time ago at a local manga store that used to bootleg em in from Japan. I got both CD's for 10$ XD... too bad they closed down tho =\ i think they got caught... and i didt get to buy a CoP cd ; ;

i also got DDr mixes, FF6-10 music as well at 5-15$ a pop... too bad all the titles were in Jp... lol i have japanese characters floating around on my ipod becuase of that, and about 50 songs labeled [Untranslatable] Track # on it too. confuses all my friends who sift through my ipod XP

very true.. as long as you still have your licence that came with the book you can legally download anything that comes with FFXI including music..

Same goes with most everything including games, movies, books, programs, and music.
