I didn't see this posted anywhere else in this board as its own thread, so I thought to bring this game up. It's a sequel off of FFXII much like FFX-2 was, but thank god they didn't call this one FFXII-2 rather than calling it Revenant wings.

The characters live on after the events from the last game, except in this one, there is a new and more frightening enemy, which in my opinion, no spoilers intended, looks a lot better than the final boss was in FFXII.

As for the battle system... It's a Tactics RPG... Looks like fun, can't wait ^^
Here's some links for more info and a little video:

Well there was, but better to create a new thread than necro, cause this 1 hasn't been posted in for 6 months heh

But yeah, I want, plus all the summons.. yay and hurrah for tactics games. Although I hear its more like an RTS not a TRPG.

50 summons, yikes.

Either way, glad I have a DS now. Cant wait for this!

yea the battles are RTS based than regular Tactics based. Guess Square wanted to try new things. I don't blame them the game is pretty good actually.

It's to mirror the Gambit system. Not really trying new things.

As for "pretty good," RTSRPGs aren't really that grand on handhelds.

any clues on the NA release?

Square hasn't announced a date and I do not know if they are planning on releasing it to NA but thats a .00000000000% chance they won't.

Eh, it's something new to me actually. Funky way of playing and the Gambit system is pretty new for handheld players who aren't use to it's kind of play, IMO. As for RTSRPG's on handhelds, guess people have different likes and dislikes. /shrug.

It's not about likes/dislikes, but hardware. Tiny screen and scrolling maps in a real time setting with no quick jump is a bad combination. I mean crossing the streams bad. Lost Magic was a major pain when you had to split your monsters up, which was frequently.

Yeah, too lazy to Necro threads or look past 2-3 pages XD Only saw it mentioned in the Square party thread though.

Anyways, read more about the game on wiki after I posted this, so saw that it was going to be RTS afterwards and only came to conclusion that it'd be tactics or some form of strategy-type game from the various pics.

No matter how it's played though, I usually love playing FF games for the storyline, and for the satisfaction of mastering a FF game too. The 50 summon thing sounds awesome though, I suppose they'd have to take just about every single summon name from every FF game, and bring in some new ones to pull that out.

Game stores and the likes do that even before they have no specific date.. it's just their estimate of when it could release. Filler dates, w/e you wanna call it, a lot of the time it's wrong.
Gamestop says it releases November 6th lol, other places I hear sometime in October, so idk

I just reserved mine today when I bought a Xbox 360 :D Yeah, they said it should be out around Nov 6th. I just put a minimum payment of $5 on it, and funny thing is, there was no listed price so in their system it was set to something like $525, but I'm sure that will be adjusted whenever the game is released.

Am I the only one not so excited about this sequel?
Maybe my expectations are just that low after playing FFX-2 >.> omgphaillol

This game looks worth it, though? Is it worth me begging my friend if I can borrow their DS? (trying to get FFIII, too >.>)

This game came out not too long ago, and I do some volunteer work teaching english or spanish to some school kids down the street. I always see 3 games being talked about or played. This one is one of them. It's looks pretty good, and the game seems to be in a new fun direction but I have yet to play it. Oh, Jump Ultimate Stars is a big hit here amongst the teens, as is some new Doki Doki Maho Shinpan (I think thats the name). The latter is a quasi-perverted game where you touch females to ensure they are/are not witches. :/
