lol well then I won't be moving, not going to ditch my Legacy character. For one, I love my goobbue. Starting a new character on a Legacy isn't bad at all, more players = less group wait time, and way cheaper AH prices, but you are correct on the economy lol cause I had planned on buying a bunch of stuff off the AH and resell for higher on the new server lmao, new server prices are just way overpriced, and people actually buy them. Although, flooding the market, might actually help, after all it's a government technique to balance things out. BUT from what I read, the reason they havn't implemented server transfers yet is because of Legacy characters, they wait a few months for non-Legacy to catch up a bit, then allow everyone to switch. and we don't have to much money lol repairs cost an arm and a leg until recently, and they only allowed a certain amount from what was made in 1.0 to be transferable, so it's not like we're bagillionares.

Haven't been here in a while.

Lenette Valkyr
Gilgamesh

I know both Lanien and Tymon are on the server with me. Ran into Ecks a couple days ago too. Fuck if I can spell anyone's name right though lol.

I'm on gilgamesh too.

Legacy people would fuck up the whole economy of non legacy servers. They have too much money.

I think your server is F'ed up as it is lmao. I've known you even before we played FFXI, so I was going to join you on Gilgamesh, so I made a temporay character until I could transfer, and there are gil sellers everywhere, which means no one is reporting them. On Ragnarok we've almost completely gotten rid of them, simply by reporting them, and then there are a lot of people in /shout complaining about the "SE-Popo taking away their gil" openly talking about how they cheated and bought gil, Gilgamesh is basically full of nothing but cheaters, and that doesn't even include the teleporting mining bots around Ul'dah, I've been bouncing around 7 servers, and this is my first time ever seeing this, Gilgamesh is like the dirty back alley of FFXIV ARR.

Is your name Romper Stomper? If so, I totally saw you in Uldah yesterday lol

Of course it's Romper Stomper, Lanien. lol

I do report them. It just becomes a hassle because of how populated Gilgamesh is with morons. Most of our spam isn't from spammed RMT accounts (there are some). Its from people that get hacked.

I just report them all. Use a more secure password or get a token, nerdos. SE doesn't have to get hacked if you're using the same account name and password for everything you do.

Of course people report them. It's not the same thing. Gilgamesh has a huge population, with bigger population theres always going to be more idiots.

I'm on Ragnarok atm, and I believe Legacy servers have a bigger population max, but I'm not sure, and there are literally tons of players. Whenever I log in the queue average is about 70, and we don't have a lot of those problems lol. Maybe it's a difference between NA and EU players I guess.

Just move to Hyperion with the rest of us!

Yeah, but I don't remember most of you lmao, My FFXI character was Edqe, I mostly hung out with Saosague (did I spell that right?) Shinreaver, Shingimp, Eilistrae, Dias the Great, Tyrath, and Lanien, I partied with Ecks a few times, but I'm getting up there in years lol so my memory isn't what it used to be, sorry, surprised that I remembered that much. It also depends on how the transfer works.

Theres no reason for Legacy servers to have RMT. Everyone has too much money, they have no base to sell to.

Where do you get your info? We only got to keep a certain amount of the money from the transfer, at least I did anyway, it gave me 16,000 gil, and I know I had a lot more than that, and the Legacy economy is probably the most balanced, as the regular servers over price things and people still buy them, in that way it's the regular servers with the most money lol. Rare and relic items aren't sellable, so there is no way to make money off of them, if they had them, thus Legacy servers only have the exact same way to make gil as regular servers, the ONLY advantage is that if they leveled up gathering and crafting before 2.0 went live. I don't know if it's the same for other Legacy characters, but It reset all my classes, except pgl, and my gathering and crafting classes, and they put my pgl at lvl 5, I was lvl 43 in 1.2. Most of the items I had left in the calamity NPC were obsolete, so they had to be NPC'd.

Legacy servers are no more richer than regular ones.

On a side note, do your servers have people /shouting for "guaranteed primal Ifrit and Titan wins, 100% drop"? or a message similar to that? If other servers have that too, and the message is about the same, then that means that gil sellers have a new tactic to make money.

You had less gil between the 1.0 to 2.0 transfer because they cut everyone's gil to 1/10th the amount. That doesn't change the fact that every Legacy player started with gil that straight-up doesn't exist on fresh servers. I wouldn't argue that there's absolutely no base on Legacy servers (there's people like me who are playing with Legacy friends), but saying that Legacy servers are on the same foot as fresh servers is a nasty little lie.

Gilsellers probably can't sell Titan wins if GMs are even slightly proactive on kicking them before they even hit 50. Don't know of anyone who sells Ifrit wins; those are so by-the-book even a fresh faced group of new 50s can take that down with only a few wipes.

Non gilseller FCs have been selling Titan wins on a lot of servers. And yeah, what Xal said about the money. Legacy servers started with way more money. Your singular experience doesn't dictate all of legacy. There were many people with millions of gil when 1.0 closed.

It's not a lie, we are no more richer than regular servers, they might have had some starting gil, but legacy were, of course the first to 50, and at that level repairs cost thousands before they lowered it, which the regular servers didn't have time to feel that hit, and why do you think they lowered it? because no one could afford the amount of repairs that they needed. With rare loot untradeable and unsellable, unless you had a high level crafting/gathering class, there was no new gil coming in, as quests already give gear needed, and NPCs already sell gear and resources for cheap. Your unreasonable bias doesn't dictate all of legacy. Just because SOME might have saved a ton of gil doesn't mean the entire legacy is rich and doesn't deserve to switch servers because we'd ruin your already down in the dumps cheater server or that gil sellers won't bother. We had a ton of gil sellers, but groups were formed to report them in masses, that's how we slowed them down, not because we're so rich that they need not bother.

Legacy servers in 1.0 rewarding players 100k+ for leve wins = average player's gil total is >10x the average player's gil total on non-legacy which also equals legacy being richer overall.

I have not heard of any single person owning more than 20 million gil on a non-legacy server. People having hundreds of millions legacy were not rare at all and that's 10mil+ even after the 1/10th cut on 2.0 launch.

Meanwhile the average for a fresh 50 is about 150k on a new server, and that number is almost guaranteed to stabilize at around 80k until they have a crafting job.

Sorry, it's not possible. In no way are legacy players so filthy rich they can't benefit from RMT, but the presence of RMT there selling gil SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than non-legacy servers is even further proof that there is more gil circulating than non-legacy servers.

Look it up.

In other news, word hit the Japanese forums that server transfers are opening up on the 15th. Get on Hyperion and you'll have a (by then) Relic +1 WHM helping you out :>

And a 50 Armorer, weaver and soon to be carpenter =o
