Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

Hehe, I like most of it only within the game though. There's few things I find from games I like outside the game :P FF9 is one that had the largest selection of music I'd enjoy outside of the game. Crystal Chronicles had quite a bit too. Kingdom Hearts has a few pieces (mostly openings).

All in all, though, ya, those composers are great. Each one of those games had great music. Specially <3 Wild Arms' and its westerner style. Love Wild Arms 3 openning. So upbeat and awesome.

More information and scans today, revealing Hope's summon and chocobo's:

Spoiler:
up2935.jpg

Yes, his Eidolon is Alexander, summon-able again for the first time in 10 years, since FFVIII. Yes he was in IX and XI but not summon-able.

And hurrah for chocobo's with mullets or a headdress looking ordeal, course they are on Pulse living unchecked so I did expect some changes with them to make them not look exactly like previous titles.

You can ride Chocobo and run on the field of Pulse in FF13.

When you encountered enemy the chocobo's HP life bar will drop ,when it drops to 0 the chocobo will run away.

A new place is revealed 'Sanress' ,a natural field that is protected in the sphere of Cocoon.

Alexander's driving mode is You sai [Barrack / Castle ] ,Suggesting Alexander may be immobilie ,or may not be able to move quickly during its driving form.

Want this game now please.

Just noticed these chocobo's are fucking huge, you can see Vanille riding it on the first pic on the chocobo page.
And possibly good news regarding FFXIII's release outside of Japan

Square Enix released their Q2 financial reports earlier today and held a conference to discuss them. Square Enix is having an amazing year thus far, bolstered by Dissidia's international sales and the release of Dragon Quest IX in Japan. During the first half of the fiscal year, they've already sold more games then the entirety of the previous fiscal year, in fact.

Square isn't done, either. While they've sold 12 million software units so far, they expect to double up to 26 million by the end of the fiscal year. This will obviously be helped by the Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean 4 International and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep launches in Japan.

They may also be aiming to release Final Fantasy XIII this year in the West. When CEO Yoichi Wada was grilled about the Western release of Final Fantasy XIII, he said everything was progressing smoothly. He also explicitly said it's possible to get the game out before the end of the fiscal year internationally.

I'd love to see it release here before the end of the fiscal year (March)

Its April actually. But yeah, that would be amazing if it happened. I havent been this excited for a game in a long time, I think FF10 was the last one.

Before March 31st, somewhat April.
I just hope it happens.

Well, time to set aside 60 bucks and never touch it until then <3 Not digging the lame head thing of the chocobo, but, whatever, not a big deal.

I'm right there with you man except atm, I'm more hyped for XIV.

Btw, I'd laugh if a beta key for XIV actually came with XIII... for Xbox 360. I know that won't happen, but it's funny to think about.

An announcement about an announcement? Awesome.. are they taking queues from Kojima?

And while I'd love for a beta for FFXIV to come with the game, I highly doubt it. Unless they announce FFXIV for the 360 or if they decide to package the FFXIII 360 version with a PC beta and the PS3 with the PS3 beta (but really I'd rather have the beta work for either PS3 or PC so I can try both). Cause, knowing Microsoft, they'll bitch about it creating an unfair advantage for PS3 users >.> cause it's cool for them to get extra shit but not PS3! lol... ah well.

My friend thinks the same (and he's a microsoft fanboy) which is why he's gonna just import the Japanese game if it has a beta code (he also has a PS3, rich son of a bitch)

I have trouble with keeping up with all the games that are coming our way, I seriously do. I need a calendar or something.

I'm going to dream they come out saying "lulz, we tricked you good. The real EU/NA release date is in December as well, lulz"

I bet my dream will get crushed =(

I pre-ordered the 5 disc limited edition soundtrack, Play-Asia already allocated all their preorders of the LE version so I had to use CDJapan, about $87 to import it and ship it here.
Loving the music thus far and this is the first FF soundtrack I've actually bought. (cough cough)
Decided to import it as we don't usually get the soundtracks released in North America. So I'll have this a few weeks after the release date of January 27th. Maybe with Friday's announcement coming up I'll have the game in my hands not long after that.

Might've been possible if the game wasn't coming for xbox. But I'm pretty sure the port isn't done yet.

Well according to Wada they're putting the final touches on the NA/EU versions of the game.
They started porting it to 360 and localizing it a while ago.

Q: What's left to do? With a project that size, QA must be a big part of it.

Yoichi Wada: We've completed the master of the Japanese version, and for the US and European versions we're just adding the final touches. The last stage of development has gone very smoothly this time.

Still probably won't see it here until next year, but at least it'll be on or before March 31st as opposed to rumoured June release dates.

Quick thing...what's the NA site with the countdown?
