Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

Whine more elem. They never said it wouldn't delay the PS3 release worldwide. They simply said it wouldn't delay it in Japan as it will come out there first. As for the rest of the world, it would be a simultaneous release.

Also, I thought about this last night and...
a 30 hour demo sounds good an all... but do I really want to replay those 30 hours when I buy the full game? I hope they at least allow saves from the demo to transfer over to the full game, because otherwise it'd be pretty ridiculous.

Where did you read that? I somehow doubt anyone would release a 30 hour demo. 30 min sounds more possible.
 
Grievously over exaggerated on my part. I believed that I read it somewhere, but looking it up it appears to not be the case.

We won't be putting them at a disadvantage in any way. I'd like to add... I think that maybe because it's going multiplatform that some fans are worried about the game's scope being reduced to fit onto both consoles. The fact is, the PS3 version is what's in development right now, and the team is working to specialise that version to the very best of the PS3's abilities. Because SE being a company based out of NA is going to be speaking in terms of NA relea...oh wait.

Obviously hes talking about the JP release. Its not going to be delayed at all in Japan for the PS3. Its your own fault for assuming shit.

Well, the game is suppose to have a -worldwide- release. Considerin' that she kind of has a valid argument but still she isn't thinkin' it all the way through.

I'm sure it'll be delayed a little. I just dont think they've come out and specifically said it wont be in NA so why bitch.

One thing people do not know is how long has Square-Enix been working towards the 360 version before the announcement. For all anyone outside of the company knows, it could've been day one. They're just primarily focusing on the PS3, since it's likely the more difficult of the two to work with.

So yes, if they were going in with intent on releasing it on another system from day one, there'd be zero delay.

Well thats fine too. Doesn't really matter to me. I'm just saying they never came out and say there won't be a delay in NA. That just means that if there is one they didn't lie.
 
I dunno, I may have made an assumption but it wasn't baseless :P from what they said it's not unreasonable to have thought what I thought (I know I'm not the only one who thought that). I don't care if it comes to another system, but if I, say, was going to get Lost Oblivion for the 360 and was planning and then find out they decided later to add a PS3 version and they are gonna complete it after the 360, if they were then going to announced that the PS3 and 360 versions were gonna be released at the same time, I'd be pissed for the same reasons lol.. if I expect it to be out on a system and then they later announce it for another, I want it out on that system when it's done, not waiting until the other system is done :(

Ele you need to think about this. If your hopes for a game appearing on the console it is completed for first was reality... Then every single multiplat game would be timed exclusive to the 360. Tho quite a few are, be carefull what you wish for.

True, but most of those games were announced to be coming to both systems before hand :P so as far as I knew they were working on both at the same time. This is a matter where I know they are working on the PS3 version first and I want it out now damn it :| we wait so damn long for these games lol, pisses me off if they decide, in the middle of it all (cause as far as we know, it was just a decision made well after they started development on FFXIII), to delay release longer for another version? Meh!
 
To be honest I don't really care about FF13 anymore. I had originally expected to be playing it last year this time, and at this point where are we? No release date yet in Japan, and then after that release actually happens I've got to wait for an entire new version of it to be started and then completed as well as localization. Seriously, who really gives a damn at this point? For all I know I'll be playing PS4 by the time it comes out, and FF13 will wind up having backwards compatability problems.

Square is so overconfident that we are gagging over whatever they're selling that they're run entirely by their business suits and are epically failing to deliver anything of value to gamers. They spend too much time selling bullshit fan junk and finding ways to exploit their previous IPs, that they have not grown any new IPs and as such are quickly losing any relevancy.

They believe they can rest on FF7 and people will buy their stuff. Some will but only their hardcare FF crazies with their Cloud bedspreads. People who realize there is a whole other world of RPGs out there are quickly moving on.

I agree. Its a nice looking trailer, but Square has gone a different path from what made Final Fantasy so great.

I miss games like Final Fantasy IV and IX. I'm kinda tired of cell phones, spiked dark/blond hair with dark outfits and brooding people. The last final fantasy I liked was Crisis Core, which had all those, but Zack was cool because he was lighthearted and badass.

Lost Odyssey was better then any Square game the last couple years, and Last Remnant might have been if not for the technical issues (shitty unreal 3 engine, people need to stop using it).
 
Well, I don't know if I'd go that far, but it isn't that big of a deal.

It's never been that big of a deal to me, I watch the new trailers and read the new info, and I look forward to the release, but it isn't anything I'm losing sleep over.

Something I would lose sleep over: KH3
 
I think a lot of 9's charm is it's different look. 7, 8, 10, 10-2, 11, 12, 13 characters all have the same exact style and it's become quite stagnant. 7 didn't, but everything involving 7 afterwards had - and I'm sure if Square didn't know jackshit about 3D rendering when they started 7, it would end up looking the same as the other titles listed. 4-6 had the same style between them too, but it didn't last as long as this.

I guess thats why I got so bored with the series. Theres almost no variation between them stylistically. The visual style just got tiring when you consider how often a Final Fantasy game comes out. Square-Enix needs to release a combo breaker Final Fantasy here. Even with 9's unique look, they fucking shoehorned Zidane and Kuja into the same played out style with Dissidia. The same goes for the 1-6 characters.
