Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

This is ridiculous, I just beat the lvl 9 boss. It is skills on here that cost 42k for one.

Level 9 boss was awesome, music and everything. Glad I did that little bit of grinding or I might not have beaten him.

Edit: Ok after looking this over, no way I can see mastering all six jobs on all six characters, and I assume it's going to expand a few more times from here.

Gonna have to sit down and think about what jobs I want to add to what players.

I'm just plain stuck. I have multiple paradigms set up, I have tried Lightning on Rev, Snow on Com, and Van on Med. Switched with an aggression Para with Lightning on Com, Snow on Com & Van on Rev to try for a stagger.

Then I said screw the stagger, I would like to just live past this Crystal Rain spell. Oh the boss, #2, in Lake Bresha, Manawar Machine I believe. Anyway, I have gone as far as to set up a Para that has Lightning on Rev, Snow on SENT and Van on Med while still spamming potions to assist Van and I STILL get bombed by Crystal Rain. UGH

I feel like a tard man. I have watched this fight on Youtube, researched all kinds and no matter what Paradigm set-up and swap I try is working for me.

thats the second Manasvin Warmech you fight right? In Lake Bresha after it turns to crystal? Keep the Aggressive paradigm up, once you start taking hits, switch to the defensive one (Snow on Sentinel, Lightning on Commando, Vanille on Medic) Snow will draw all the hate of the mech while yall heal and such. once everyone is mostly full on HP switch back to Relentless Assault(?) and hammer away. If you dont stagger it you will have a bitch of a time killing the damn thing.

I finally beat this SOB, well a couple hours ago actually... and now I'm completely engrossed in the game =p

Not sure if you're a trophy/achievement person or not.
There's 2 trophies/achievements, one for developing all characters (all crystarium roles mastered) and the other is for getting all previous trophies/achievements.
Growth Egg from Mission 55 doubles CP obtained and will help, also there's a lot of good CP spots on Pulse.

Well enough for tonight, off to bed.

How much further is Grand Pulse, I just beat the guy with the wings, forgot his name. Crystarium is at Stage 8, can't wait to get started on some of this stuff lol.

This game is awesome. I just wish it opened up sooner. It's a shame that a lot of people may put this game down because it starts so slow and miss a great game.

Yeah I try to get all the achievements lol.

Grand Pulse starts in chapter 11 :3

My God this game is good once you get to Gran Pulse. Throw out the 15 hours of tutorial in chapters 1-10 and this game might jump into the top 10 rpgs of all time list. Early on I wasn't sure that I was even going to finish it-- kinda like FF12 where you just don't care anymore-- but man was I wrong.

Hands down the best battle system in RPG history and I love that certain fights will actually punish you some if you get lazy. I've finally reached the point where I can't stop playing...

So holy shit at the end boss of chapter 9. My guide says buff up and be at full hp and just take that major 25 second charge up blow but my cousin says you have to go all out to stall him. Not sure which to do, going to look it up.

I just beat that fight, healed up with Lightning as Medic and Hope rebuffed during his 25 second charge with Hero's Charge paradigm, then I switched to Solidarity before it went off, he got off like 5-8 Destrudo's but none of them killed me, I was in yellow after each one but Hope kept us alive then I just kept chipping away utilizing Diversity as my main paradigm since he can hurt you hard. Bully helped too with Fang putting Curse and Slow on him.

You can beat on him (offensive paradigm) while he's charging destro and it'll stun him (he'll moan) and the move will be delayed. When it finally does hit, it hits weaker than it would have otherwise. Switching to solidarity for the hit is a good call, and then a dual medic combo with a commander lets you heal up quickly while keeping hits on him for your chain. Then jump right back back into a fully offensive paradigm to continue the pwnage.

edit: Lightning, Hope and Fang is the party I've used most. They are by far the most complimentary trio at this stage of the game.

Also, if you're building Lightning as a STR only build you're really limiting her versatility, which is her strongest contribution to any party. Using her RAV with Fang's COM is win if you don't gimp her magic stat.

Inside The Fifth Ark now on Chapter 10, fun place.
Looking forward to getting to Pulse next chapter, however that will likely have to wait until tomorrow as I gotta get some cleaning done, and by then gf will be home from work so no XIII tonight.

Beat the game last night, the last boss was a biiiiooootch, not throwin out any spoilers though. I plan on going back to gran pulse now, grinding a shitload, and coming back to 5-star the bitch.

So uh....anyone remember that train boss that does Wreaking ball and steam cleaner? I found a side boss like that and it fucking kicks my ass. It can two shot my party with melee attacks or one shot em with Wreaking ball. The fuck man, the fuck. It has like 1million hp too.

How long is this 5th Ark my goodness lol. Been in here for hours.

Yeah just at the ark now but taking a break. Really revealing at the end of chapter 9 man and I was thinking of that revelation my self.

Um just fought Fang's Eidolith, won't name it for people who haven't gotten that far.

All I'll say is when you see the scene starting be ready to bring your A game when the fight starts lol.

EDIT: And Grand Pulse finally WOOT. How long should I stay here before I go on with the storyline?

Come back later.

It took me 9 chapters to figure out that you can sell incentive chips and that other chip. Sitting on 75,000 gil now not knowing what to do with it.

Upgrade shit? That's a great way to lose money.

Man, I may be in Gran Pulse but I can't fight everything her yet lol. I'll just say some of these fights have been short lol.
