Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread?

why would you want a 4th title? XD
 
I really hope theres no 4th title. 3 is plenty as it is. I'm assuming the countdown is for release date or something
 
Or maybe they will reveal the release date? <.<;

Guessing on a DS game. Or Iphone/Itouch? <.<
 
Its 30 mins on the US site too.

The battle system looks awesome. Its almost real time.
 
Man this game is much faster pace, almost like FFX-2 which had a good combat engine. Seriously, this one has a FFX feel to it! I have hope for this now, since I thought X was a great game.
 
To me, the combat looks like a much faster and more complex battle system similar to the one used in Penny Arcade Adventures.

Oh, and the trailer scenes are what those lucky enough to have pre-ordered FFVII-ACC are gonna play.

FFX's battle director is the battle system director for FFXIII, the director of FFX-2 is directing the game and writing the story for FFXIII, co-composer of FFX will be doing the music, so yeah it's got quite the X/X-2 feel to it.

Trailer looked great, and showed off more new characters that was previously shown in trailers only private audiences got to see. The orange haired guy was one of them, as was another, the black haired female, names Gadoo and Lepuro. You could see both in one scene in the trailer standing next to each other. Also the Shota kid some have seen in other private trailers was in it as well, near the beginning somewhat on his knees behind Snow as he talks to the people who volunteer to help fight.

Wow didn't even know that! Guess I was spot on lol.

I feel good about this one. It seems like alot of people say Square has been down in their final fantasy series, but really, only XII to me was a letdown. They haven't been lucky with their new IP's though.

Honestly, if this one is even close to what X was, then I'll be very happy.

I loved XII myself but I understand everyone's opinions on it. And yeah some of their newer IP's aren't so hot, ie The Last Remnant, which is ok other than the engine they chose for it. Tri-Ace hasn't had great luck either with Infinite Undiscovery, hopefully Star Ocean: The Last Hope ends up ok. Only newer IP of SE's I have thoroughly enjoyed was The World Ends With You.

Mainly the only SE titles I've been looking forward to are remakes and ports and Dragon Quest, FFIV, CT, SO1/SO2, DQIV, though DQV and VI doesn't really count as a remake in NA because the original titles were never released here. And Dragon Quest never lets me down, I love the series more than Final Fantasy, but both are great.
XIII does look to be pretty awesome, too bad still a year off for us.

I watched the new trailer. The guy who looks like a blonde homeless man seemed kinda cute, and I liked his fighting style. We'll see how it goes. Plenty of time to wait for this one to turn up on our shores...
 
Wow, a video of FFXIII That actually makes me interested :D the battles look fun and fast paced <3 and they have that FF Physics we all know and love lol

When I heard that they were lookin' to make a more fast paced battle system I was at the same time hopin' they wouldn't degenerate the series into a hack-n-slash or simple action game. Looks like they've done something interesting indeed. The only thing that can't be answered, obviously, from a simple trailer though is to whether or not the new battle system will allow for strategic fights of epic proportion. Hopefully they wont be lettin' us down this time. I also hope they give us a Japanese voice track this time too.
 
That trailer was awesome, really made me interested in the battle system.

I hope the demo will be downloadable through PSN later as I didn't preorder FFVII:AC. Even though I can't speak nor read any Japanese, I wanna play it just to see how the battle system is myself.
 
Is this coming out for the PC as well?
