Final Fantasy History

FF saved SE

I didn't think FF9 was that bad.

And SE wouldn't NEED saving if they stopped making crap like Unlimited Saga. For god's sake, it's a PS2 game with a boardgame overlay and 2D character portraits. And the battle designs are early PS1 at best (They're bad. RE1 bad.)

I think people'd have more fun off the game if SE just took a stack of money wasted making it and instead lit it ablaze and let people dance around it.

Yep, The "Final" in the title is because it was supposed to be the last game Squaresoft was ever going to make. But its success turned the company around.

I don't even own a PS2. It's pretty common knowledge these days among gamers.

Can you tell that was written by a FF VI fan?
Most people who played 1-11 like IX a lot more, too.
I like how it acclaims VI the best one ever, then sort of hazily glosses over VII sold 7 million copies. It even had the audacity to say Kefka is the best villain ever. Right, because he had such "motivation" to do the things he did. What was he, anyway? Court Jester? His official possition in the Empire still escapes me.

FFVI was good but wasn't that damn great :| the flow of the game was horrible. Granted, SE has been getting MUCH better at character, story, and world development over the years. Prolly one reason FFVII was so famous. It flowed a bit (read: tons) better than the ones before it. So far I think FFX has the best development of plot/characters/world. FFIX wasn't too bad, FFVIII was good when it comes to development of characters and such things.. but I didn't really enjoy the characters or the story or the useless gameplay (leveling useless ftl) and ya.. but that's my opinion.. hehe. I liked FFVI a lot and FFVII a lot but you can tell SE is only getting better and better over time. *shrugs* FFXII does seem to be the greatest of all FFs from what I've played of it.

Kefka didn't need motivation. He was just fucking crazy. And actually succeeded in screwing over the world. Name a villian whos managed that aside from him. Note: Sephiroth only fucked Midgar, not the world. World > One City. While Midgar would've been the best place to destroy for his revenge, Kefka didn't drive off revenge. He just did what he did because he wanted to on a whim. As well, he didn't rely on lolgodmode powers. Sephiroth was just cheesy and cheap generico villian, Kefka was a classic.

A villian with motivation is just a misdirected emo kid(Sephilolth.)

I guess people just prefer godmoding retards with overcompensating swords to lunatics who perform with finesse today.

Not to mention, Sephiroth stole the whole angle wings idea from Kefka.

I think it was more of the graphics that impressed people, If they did a FFIV Remake in Ps3 Graphics with FF7 People would probably learn towards who looked cooler -_- thus is the way of the younger people who like this series... I myself didn't realize how ****ed up kefka was until I replayed it when I was older.. Speaking of which i'm having that urge now.

Meh,

Seifer > Kefka
Seifer < Sephiroth
Sephiroth < Jecht
Jecht < Kam'lanaut
Kam'lanaut< Eald'narche

What about Rufus? eh?

Rubicant, while not a main boss(but neither is Seifer or Kam'lanaut,) is still probably my favorite boss of all time. Simply because despite trying to destroy the heroes of FFIV when they encountered both times, he had a gentlemanly personality and always restored all your HP and MP before fighting to make it even.

Jecht can't really compete as a "villain"

He wasn't really a "bad guy"

Becoming what he did was just an occupational hazard of being the final aeon ;/

And in no way do the two dorky dukes of Jeuno compare to any of the people on that list -_-

Hell ya Rubicant is great...god, now I need to go play FFIV(advance), damn you! ;( Although personally my favorite FF villian(if you really wanna call him that) is Gilgamesh from FFV, and for that reason I'm insanely stoked for XII.

Can't wait for V, VI advance and III DS though, I wanna see what they add in for these ports of V/VI, what new jobs V advance will add, bonus dungeon/etc, and who knows what they'll do with VI, all I know is I want it.
And III remake is why I'm gonna buy a DS(well along with Children of Mana and Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime), I've played the translated rom of it, but the DS version just looks amazing.

Then there's XII, which also looks amazing, can't wait for that on October 31st, then V advance like 6 days later Oo, then who knows when VI or III will release.

Kefka was such a coward... haha.. Sephiroth was actively seeking power really.. Kefka too.. but kefka seemed to stumble into it more. And Kefka barely fought you.. the only reason he really fought you is cause he ran outta people to throw in your way to him :P and if you like villians that screw over an entire planet.. you must LOVE Kuja.. I mean.. come on.. he obliterated an entire fucking planet :P good game Gaia (or was it Terra.. been a long time.. I forget.. maybe it was Terra? *shrugs*). And Sephiroth did destroy like. 5 planets (like 50 times or however many times he does it when you fight him XD) with his final move :P hehe.. funniness...
