Yeah I didn't understand what it did, until I cured myself and I ended up getting hurt lol. However using the reverse status to your advantage helps :D
 
Yeah, Reverse Status caught me off guard. I got hit with it as I was casting a Curaja.....

This.

The first time he caught me off guard, cured my whole team (Killed three of them I believe), and then I was an idiot and tried Phoenix Downs on my team, which obviously did not work under the reverse effects.
He then swapped back to damage and burned us all to a crisp.

The next time we fought, I tossed my two elixirs at him and he died without doing any damage to us at all. <3
 
I'm on the moon now and I'm roughly 52-55 with everyone. Cecil is a bit under leveled because I put Draw attack on him along with counter and he seems to die a lot right near the end of a battle. When i'm about to cure or throw a hi potion at him, someone is about to finish him off, so he's behind 2-3 levels at 51 I think.

I beat the wall the first fight, but it was pretty damn close.

I spent a chunk load of gil on the throwing ninja stars for Edge and keep them at 99. All he does is throw them which is a great help.
 
Oh, and I forgot how amazing the Lunar Whale music was. I was so happy. :)
 
Bleh, I'm on my second playthrough and I'm trying to farm up a Mindflayer summon in Lodestone Cavern with Treasure Hunter with no luck yet.

I've killed over 150 of them with no drop yet.
 
I'm at the Lunar Subterrane and extremely frustrated by random encounters.. seriously, did they have to beef up the formerly shitty AOE abilities possessed by so many late game enemies THAT MUCH?! I got a decent chunk into the Subterrane (party around lvl 60 to 63), popped the crystal shield chest, and promptly ate 3 Icebreaths in a row for instant GG. -_-
 
Yeah.. it was a bitch the first time through, currently there on new game + and icebreaths or w/e do like 100-200 with adamant armors. Just bear with it, it may be a pain, but try and get Berserk and/or Stop on the blue dragons, and berserk/hold the red ones.

Though yeah, buffing enemies up like that is cheesy, but I love it.
Almost on my 3rd playthrough then gonna farm the stuff that doesn't carry over, as well as max stats, also fight Proto-Babil, beat Geryon this second playthrough, what a joke with adamant armor+cursed rings to absorb nearly everything he throws at you.

Well that's all good and all but the thing is on that particular fight vs. two of them they literally did two consecutive Icebreaths, killing Edge and nearly killing the rest of my team, and the instant before Curaga and Cura readied, I ate a third and fatal Icebreath.

Well, it wasn't entirely fatal right away but Cecil being the only survivor immediately popping Cura on himself isn't entirely a good sign. edit: and of course I couldn't run because it was a Chest battle -_-

The mobs being buffed is fine but god, the AOEs are way excessive
 
Sometimes you get lucky and they don't use it 3 times in a row, I've had battles where I had a gameover before I even got to do anything(read chimera brains and Blaze in the Sealed Cave), it is definitely cheesy, but just keep trying.

If you have flame mail/shields still(or if you've already farmed some pink tails for adamant armors), and cursed ring drops, equip on Kain and Cecil(or everyone in the case of adamants) to absorb Icebreath.

What does Cursed Ring do besides lower stats?

And why are the tail drops such dickweeds? <_< I've killed 200+ Green dragons and not a single fucking one. Still on my first playthrough, haven't even entered the Lunar Subterrane and I'm lvl 84. lol
 
Enter the Lunar Subterrane, finish all maps there and get Treasure Hunter augment for it, which doubles drop rates, so tails will now have a 0.8% drop rate as opposed to 0.4% without it, which either way you'll be farming a while.

And cursed ring plus an element resistant head/armor/shield you absorb that element, so flame shield you'd absorb ice if you had cursed rings on with it, and with adamant armor plus the ring you'd absorb all elements.

And I can't get the all maps 100% on my first play through now cause I made a booboo during the tower of Babil or w/e(When you're inside the giant there) I got the CS before I finished the last map of that area.
 
I didn't get Treasure Hunter when I finished the Lunar Subterrane down to Zemus's floor, so now I'm a tad ticked cause i was QUITE certain I 100%'d every single room thus far =/

Same here. I don't even wanna go back and search because if it turns out to be a one-time dungeon map I missed I'm gonna be even more pissed.
 
If either of you plan on doing new game+ just complete the maps you missed 2nd play-through.
